ktvu's mike mibach is live with the existing danger. >> reporter: her husband loved the outdoors but as the coast guard warned today, surf can turn in a second and hurt the most experienced. >> reporter: the pacific ocean slamming in. >> i think it is pretty. >> reporter: pretty but it can be deadly. the coast guard responded yesterday after witnesses say a large wave rolled into the area. >> the woman and dog made it back to shore but the man was unaccounted for. >> she tried to rescue his dog. but lost his life in doing so. her husband was a sailor, loved hiking and bicyclings. last -- and bicycling. >> a lot of reports that kids are coming too close to the the water and the parents are not minding with it. people don't realize -- they see the warning but they don't realize how dangerous it can be. >> the conditions remain rough. stay clear of the waves. today we saw this woman who is visiting stumble as she tried to avoid the water. >> playing with water is not something you joke about. and you be to be -- you have to be careful. >> reporter: he was married with no children. servi

i'm claudine wong. >> i'm mike mibach.n with a traffic stop and ended in a deadly car collision in oakland. ktvu's alex savage is live at the scene where he just talked to witnesses to that crash. alex, what did they have to say? >> reporter: well neighbors around here describe this as a loud crash that woke up a lot of people. we do know that a 19-year-old man, a passenger in this stolen suv was killed in this crash. the suv was being chased by the chp officers this morning. still an active crime scene. taking measurements right now. they had eight people inside of it when the driver lost control on this curve and then hit a tree. we'll show you what this accident scene looked like this morning at the neighborhood here in oakland. paramedics moved in transporting six passengers with various injuries from mild to moderate. one of them had very serious injuries and later died. that's the 19-year-old. the other passenger has non- life-threatening injuries. the driver of the car, the suv took off after the crash ran away from
