ktvu's mike mibach joins us with the latest developments that keep coming in on this breaking story. >> yeah, tori. ukrainian officials say the crew of flight 17 did not report any problems during the flight. let's blow up a map of the region. the airline said it lost contact with the 777 about 30 miles from the russian/ukraine border. a government official said the plane was flying at about 32,000 feet when it was shot down by a surface-to-air missile. spoking debris can be scene at the wreckage site located in the field in eastern ukraine. that debris field is ten miles wide. the ukrainian president says he could not confirm the president was shot down but he says it's not being ruled out. no world if it's an act of terror or a mistake. no individual or group has taken responsibility for breaking down the airline. this comes at a time when tensions between russia and the ukraine continue to be heated. this week, ukrainian officials said a russian jet shut down a plane while in ukrainian airport space. the u.s. embassy in kiev is in close contact with ukrainian officials. within the
