(jr stone) new at ten... the man believed to have shot and killed a sacramento sheriff's deputy has died. 32-year-old thomas littlecloud from castro valley died today after being shot three days earlier. police say littlecloud shot through the door of a sacramento hotel room, injuring two c-h-p officers on wednesday police say he then shot and killed deputy robert french and escaped over a hotel-room balcony. littlecloud was later shot after a car chase. (jr stone) a vigil was held for deputy robert french in el dorado hills. french was a 21-year-veteran of the force. this was the scene yesterday. friends, family and co workers came together to remember him. heartbroken fellow deputies who have had to investigate what happened to their friend...talked about the character that french displayed even after being shot.
