look at the moisture mrup pulling all that moisture into the united states. there's a system in the u.s. that's helping to funnel that moisture in. so as we take the u.s. look, you can see how this is kind of the moisture setup that has been impacting texas. that's part of the reason weave had all the rain recently. the other part of the reason the system is setting that up is more into the rockies region and north of that there's another area of rain and snow we're dealing with. as we get into texas, we already have flooding. austin for example yesterday set a record rainfall. some places around town get close to a foot of rain. a lot of flooding are going to stay up in the air or flood watches and warnings. next couple of days, here's how that moisture shield looks. all the way into texas and on the northern end of this. in the great lakes that's more of the moisture we get into tomorrow. but northern plains, northern midwest has rain across most of the state of south dakota where we're still recovering from the blizzard just a weekend ago or a week and a h

we are watching plenty of moisture on the frontal boundary. there's additional moisture from the pacific, where tropical storm octave, it's bn upgraded this morning. it is aspected to weaken -- expect to weaken as it closes in. it's a rain maker, pushing moisture to the southern plains. we are quiet across the midsection of the boundary, we are cooling down and drying out. across the west we are watching a disturbance bringing rainfall and higher elevations will deal with snow. we'll see that snow level coming down from about 8,000 feet to 6,000 feet. i want to update you in the tropics because we have typhoon nari, and typhoon wipha. typhoon nari will continue to make its way west through the south china sea. now it's equif lents of a category 2 hurricane, expected to make landfall monday. we are watching typhoon wipha - now well out to sea.

that is going to bring moisture into the bay area and cooler days as well. we had that offshore flow bringing the dry air in, the onshore flow coming in going to be bringing cooler temperatures as well. as we look at our day planner for the next 12 hours, starting off on the cooler side you 54 inland, 58 by the bay, 56 along the coast, by noon, temperatures rampinging up to the 70s inland, by 4 p.m., 80s, mid-70s around the bay and 64 along the coast, with breezy conditions overnight. now, take a look what is happening in traffic. we do have a couple of problems, one is this overturned tanker truck in richmond. amy hollyfield is on the scene and bring us details. eastbound 80, carlson boulevard, on and off ramps shut down until further notice, all due to a tanker truck carrying propane it overturned. also have a nearby hotel that's been evacuated. westbound traffic unaffected. what you can do, if you need to make your drive into richmond, you can always use petrero avenue as your alternate instead. looks like the rest of your commute, you head westbound towa

but we'll definitely see more moisture moving in off the atlantic ocean. 69 off annapolis.ight, very light east/southeast wind. however, when you continue that flow off the atlantic ocean, eventually, moisture will be increasing. that's what's going to happen overnight. we're not expecting a lot of rain. maybe a little spotted drizzle during the early mong hours tomorrow. and it remains cloudy. there's a batch of clouds to the west. milder air moving over top of the slightly dryer air. causes some clouds. to the west, that's where the bulk of the rain is. but this low pressure over minnesota is heading to our north. it will drag this front toward our region. behind it, it is chilly. there's snow in south dakota. not a lot. but cold air. ahead of it, warming up. clouds already in the western sky. not a lot. but overnight tonight, spotty sprinkles and showers to the west of us. most of that front's energy will pass well north of us am we'll see increasing cloud cover overnight. and it will be milder, maybe a little spotty drizzle. once this front gets through the area, we exp
