here's phase 3, the next slug of moisture. we're talking about a lot of moisture now for the next possibly 12 hours. so some heavy freezing rain is possible overnight. we've had reports from manassas of thunder and lightning. the atmosphere is very dynamic. so we are getting reports of sleet mixed in with freezing rain and quite frankly, the sleet would be a silver lining because that will not accumulate on the trees and power lines. it will interfere with the roads more so than freezing rain, but of the two evils sleet is the lesser of the two. up to 33 downtown, but still 30 in gaithersburg, leesburg and in manassas and upper 20s out to the north and west. so morning commute, icy north and west of town. the district will be above 32 by 7:00. frederick, maryland, may take until 10:00 to get above freezing and leesburg. we'll come back and talk about how i've already lowered temperatures for tomorrow and increased the snow chances tuesday and how much ice could accumulate overnight. >>> here's something that will be very helpf

here's all of that moisture we were talking about.wy stuff, the wintery precipitation is moving up and toward the north. that's going to impact most of the midwest and new england into the next 24 to 48 hours. for us we'll have mainly clearing skies into the evening hours. so right now our current temperatures are slowly responding to that sunshine. we will definitely see our low temperatures from this morning rise on up, although we are in the teens and 20s, we are now sitting solidly in the 30s, in fact, pushing that 40-degree mark. winchester has already made it to 41, fredricksburg has made it to 43 and the rest of our locations will follow shortly. overall, though, at reagan national airport, the skies are clearing, the winds have calmed down a bit, but we're still seeing the opportunity for some of those clouds to pass by from time to time. futurecast forecast model is going to keep us predominantly in the clear, not only for today and tonight, but into tomorrow. and let's take a look at our three-day forecast. overall it stays

there is moisture moving in. rain snow showers, snow showers still into the higher elevations so i think we're going to stay in the clear as far as the rain goes for today for us. but these temperatures definitely on the chilly side. take a look at some of the coldest temperatures we're looking at right now. 24 up in germantown. west have about 24 out toward andrews and way up towards the baltimore area lower range 20s. when you factor in the winds out of the northwest, the feel like temperatures much colder. futurecast is quiet. noontime looks great. that's when we'll see all of the sunshine in the clear and we'll keep it clear into the overnight tonight. let's look at how things are going to play out the next few days. the forecast will stay in the green basically into the 40s for today. that will be our high. a little cooler up north buff nothing to concern ourselves with winter weather wise till we get into the weekend forecast. blustery today because of the north winds. cold tomorrow with some sunshine pulli
