monique griego is warning about where the swine flu is popping up. >> reporter: people who are showcasing their pigs here at the howard county fair are taking every precaution to keep it that way. a recent string of swine flu cases in several states has health leaders and county fairgoers on alert. >> it makes me nervous. >> reporter: the swine flu virus originates in pigs but can be transferred to humans. according to the cdc nationwide 29 have been reported since last summer. 12 of which popped up in the last week of july in ohio, indiana and hawaii. all of those cases were linked to people who interacted with pigs at county fairs. >> touching the pig, getting secretions from the pigs and then touching their eyes or nose and getting the flu that way. >> reporter: the swine flu isn't uncommon and so far no deaths have been reported. >> we're not trying to raise hysteria. >> reporter: swine farmers weren't taking any chances. >> we're trying to make sure they're healthy and stay healthy. if there's coughing then we need them home. >> reporter: there's also a swine superintendent who is co

monique griego, eyewitness news. >> thank you.vets are saying some dogs have very severe parve of symptoms and others may not show any sign at all. >>> one person is dead after an accident at the mall of america in minnesota. police are saying it appears the driver of a u-haul misjudged the size of a truck. the truck hit a concrete support beam, causing part of the ramp to fall. that driver died in the wreck. two other people were trapped for a time, but they were able to get out. >>> the former governor of alabama is headed back to jail. a judge resentenced him to 6 1/2 years if bribery. back in 2006, he was found guilty of accepting bribes from a healthcare ceo in exchange for a spot on the hospital board. he served 9 months of his 88 month sentence and he was released on appeal. last month his supreme court ordered his resentencing. the former governor is saying that he respects america's system of justice. >> i'm blessed blessed to be in the united states, where we have the right to try by jury. i had a trial by jury. the jury

monique griego is there as the team practiced real-life scenarios. >> dangled into the air.aiting to be hoisted into a nearby hospital is probably a position most people don't ever expect or at least hope to be in. but it's exactly the type of emergency maryland's heart or helicopter aquatic rescue team is training for. >> we're trying to put together different scenarios. so that if the need arises, we can go ahead and effectively operate it. >> reporter: h.a.r. it is being made by the baltimore county police and the national guard. and today, near the essex riverside park, wjz was in the air, as they practiced various water training rescues. training that had recently come in handy. >> the storm waters. there's been rescues out of the reservoirs up in pretty boy and lock raven. >> reporter: in 2008, h.a. rvmentd t. -- h.a.r.t. was created. >> that was one of the biggest rescuess we had. now we can more effectively rescue people down here. >> reporter: the most important part of this is to train these and save lives on a moment's notice. >> it's important for us in a state,

monique griego has reaction from happy fans out there. hey, monique. >> reporter: those fans are definitely ready for football season to kickoff. many people arrive hours before the practice even started because they wanted to get a good seat. >> with the official start of football season just weeks away, ravens fever is heating up. >> can't wait. >> it's nice to get back in the football field. >> tens of thousands of fans pack into m&t bank stadium for the team's first open practice. >> so happy. >> i love it because, like, i don't really get to go to a lot of games sometimes, so to come here for free is really exciting. >> watching the ravens on the field gave many people a much needed football fix. after the month long wait between seasons. >> it's nice to watch the orioles, but it's tough and i'm glad football is back in town. >> but mixed in with all the excitement is also a lot of anticipation from fans keeping a close eye on the team's performance. >> the faces to see if they come up with new plays and how the veterans are doing. >>

monique griego has more on what happened. monique? >> reporter: police say the man was pointing at the audience, like he had a gun. turns out he did not have a weapon. but moviegoers did not find that out until much later. >> reporter: wednesday afternoon. parents and kids pack into the bow tie cinemas in annapolis, for a showing of madagascar 3. but just before the movie ends, panic erupts, after police say 25-year-old kyle nolan tanner, began yelling and pointing at the audience, like he was holding a gun. >> he came down this aisle and he was like that. >> reporter: wendy lantis got a frantic call from her 12-year- old son, who was watching the movie with a friend. >> he's hysterical and crying. >> reporter: police say tanner did not have a weapon. but at the time, witnesses coo couldn't tell because it was so dark in the theater. >> they thought he had a gun. because they went underneath their seats. and as soon as his friend looked up, he said, let's get out of here. >> reporter: there were people there who were unsure he had a w
