monterey are in the 60s. so that's not surprising. 60s upper 60s even la and san diego, the high pressure system which loves arizona this summer has parked itself there. a couple of people have said, why is our summer so much different than past summers ? because the highs not over us . it's been parked over arizona or new mexico. we get a series of these lows coming in. well, guess what? there's another one on the way, but not until we get to thursday. friday, the fires in oregon could send some smoke to northern california. i don't think much is going to get here. it looks like it's going to stay well north of us, maybe mendocino county or lake county. one low will punch in the pacific northwest. that's rather innocuous, but a secondary one will dig down from the pacific northwest on friday. and this one looks like it has a little bit of oomph to it. this is overdone to my best opinion, is that that's a little overdone. that's rain from the north. that's not monsoon moisture or tropical moisture. that would be from the north, which would be which would be impressive for early september here. i do think we'll get a much cooler pattern ,

so as menlo park 37 now in truckee, 43 south lake tahoe to 90 on the desert or 80 las vegas, 59 down in montereyys, couple lows there. there's going to be two. i'll get to that in a second. smoke forecast, though, most of it stays north a little bit. might filter down here. and we've had a fantastic summer for air quality, let's be honest. but to the north, that's not the case. so we're fighting fires up in the southern oregon area. but there are some changes on the way and maybe some good changes. now, one low will start to move in, kind of punch in there. that'll knock the ridge down a little bit. a secondary low will drop in behind that starting thursday and friday. and this looks to have a little more oomph. probably overdone on that rain forecasting an inch of rain for redding north. that's probably well overdone. but the theme is cooler pattern drizzle , the wind picking up and a big drop in our temps with maybe some rain to the north. i'll get some in oregon. just how far south will it make? it won't be until friday night or saturday. so fog along the coast, most of it on the coast. sunny
