heavy snow in southern and northern montgomery county. the heavier bands are above and below gaithersburg. heavy snow south of 50 in southern half of fairfax county. heavy snow through all parts of the district right now. the area of low pressure that's driving this storm is still the upper level low. this will not start to wind down until the upper level low finally goes off the coast and moves on out to sea. with the low sitting back here, imagine you get an ore and dig it as hard as you can along the side of the canoe. you spin up the whirlpools. that's what's going on. this area of low pressure is essentially digging down into the atmosphere. it's these curly qs that come up, these smaller areas of intense low pressure. that's what's going on. as it digs in, i throws moisture off the boy and back into us. the air is way below freezing. this is all powder across parts of northern maryland. it's a heavier, wetter snow. do know that the power outages are more likely to take place east of i-95 towards the bay. because the winds are stronge

montgomery county reporter kevin lewis has a frustration built in this morning. with a guarantee like that yesterday, every resident who didn't get plowed has every reason to be frustrated. kevin: i agree with you there. while we have no idea how many streets in montgomery county haven't seen a snowplow by 7:00 a.m. i spoke to 17 people that live on 11 different streets today that all say they didn't see a snowplow and they feel ike leggett broke the conference. that includes streets that for 88 hours after snow fell no plow came down. that came around 3:00 today. a plowed truck right behind my photographer. you pan over and you can see it. it has now cleared the street. residents are still irritated. i will show you what the conditions on the road looked like earlier today when we first arrived here. there is a deep slant down a hill which only added to the inability for residents to get out of here for four days after snow fell. we also visited a lockville cul-de-sac where a man who has parkinson's had to use his own red chevy pickup truck to clear out his neig

cam has more on what happened before the chase. >> reporter: that's right, we are in montgomery county where things came to a head and the chase ended but it began about five miles away with what police say was a drug deal gone wrong. police have charged 30-year-old thompson of silver springs with first degree assault for his role in this two car chase. they say it started as an apparent drug deal in this wendy's parking lot in prince george's county. after the cash and drugs were exchanged, thompson got in his car. a black honda accord, and began chasing 27-year-old tyrell owens driving a black dodge charger. it ended up on new hampshire avenue. >> witnesses told investigators that traffic was stopped on new hampshire avenue. mr. thompson got out of his car and pointed a handgun at the driver of the black dodge charger. >> reporter: police say owens went north on the southbound lane at one point hitting three cars. >> there were no serious injuries. >> reporter: it ended here in this office depot parking lot where both drivers had stopped. owens was given a traffic citation and releas
