and for san jose, it's a lot lighter but starting to pick up quite a bit in morgan hill and gilroy.are going to see more waves of rain coming through but the heaviest moving through right now. as we go toward 9:00 to 10:00, we start to see it lightening up for most of us. notice these spotty showers that may still linger into today. but even as we go into tonight it's going to stay mostly cloudy. the rain really doesn't completely leave the bay area. by tomorrow at noon there still could be showers in parts of the north bay and then rolling right back into tomorrow evening as the second storm system for the weekend arrives and moves through with some heavier rain that may also continue throughout much of the day on sunday for some spots. there could be breaks here and there. and then for the new workweek, we are going to see it tapering off. as we go into the weekend, we're looking at the possibility of at least three-quarters of an inch of rain for spots like concord, as well as morgan hill. some of the heavier rain could be over the peninsula and parts of the south bay with over a

we're looking at 71 down to the south morgan hill, 68 half moon bay. 59. but for the most part, we're going to be right there at the 60's concord, you're at 69, antioch, 68. so again, we have those warm temperatures a lot like we had today, but then things start to get interesting. take a look at futurecast when even tuesday at 09:00am going to get breezy monday night into tuesday by 9 o'clock look, santa rosa, we have wind gust of 36 miles per hour, even half moon bay at 39 miles per hour. that coast really getting those breezy conditions as we go to 12, 15 on tuesday with this wind advisory, half moon bay picking up to 45 miles per hour. and then look at tuesday for 15, you can just maybe even sonoma, wind gusts of 50 miles per hour. so this is going to be a high wind event that we're going to continue to watch on tuesday. and remember, when we get to 39 miles per hour, that's when we can see a whole trees knocking down at 48 miles per hour. it seemed just hard to walk. so a wind event on tuesday and then the potential rain, maybe snow. >> on thursday, i

it will go down 101 and head towards gilroy and morgan hill before long. so that line right there is slowly marching its way to the south. if we look over towards the east, it is snowing on mt. hamilton. about 4000 feet easily, and you can see first alert doppler is reading that as snow. highway 130 is making its way toward the lincoln observatory. for everyone else, it's relatively quiet. there is the sound we were looking at. that one leaves. others will come in over the course of the afternoon. once we get to this evening, it turns off. so really for the rest of today, we have the first alert status for on-again and off- again showers like what we are seeing. in general, it's about 1/10 of an inch of rain. if you have what san jose has or another one that comes in better developed in any location, you get a brief downpour. rainfall totals will be bigger than that. the take away is still a 10th of an inch to go. we still have a weather advisory in our mountains. we will get accumulating snow down to 2500 feet which is much higher than thursday and friday

so those are the hills right above san jose, as well as along morgan hill, over the reservoirs we're seeing heavy snow. for the santa cruz mountains, for the higher elevations it's changing from rain to snow. redwood city, woodside, palo alto, really heavy downpours. for the east bay we've seen heavy rain as well through the tri-valley, 680, 580, soggy and creating hazardous travel conditions. a wider view shows that we are seeing dry air moving into parts of the north bay, while the brunt of the storm is still hitting areas from san francisco to the east bay and southward. a couple of lightning strikes. we can see there is nowhere you can go to escape the storm. it's hitting all of california, right now the southern coast and approaching southern california. the storm is still spinning off the coast and that will draw in more moisture for the next several hours. temperature-wise, it's so marginal. that means we're seeing that sometimes it's just cold enough for it to change over to hail or snow pellets, and then in other areas it's a little bit too warm and one degree can make a hug
