mr. kennedy. we appreciate your time today on c span page. can you hear me. i'm very, very, very happy to be here today. i am going to speak about the united states constitution and particularly the bill of rights. a lot of people don't realize that the articles of the constitution don't grant citizens any rights or freedoms whatsoever. that was a real problem that some of the founding fathers, particularly the george mason mason, wrote a powerful hit during the constitutional convention and opposed the new government. and i have it was so convincing that the other framers of the constitution were felt that it was too much of a hazard and that the constitution was in danger at that point of not being ratified. and that's what james madison came to the rescue. i drafting the bill of rights, the first ten amendments. the united states constitution, original. madison felt that the bill of rights were unnecessary because it was obvious to him that the government couldn't exert powers that the constitution had not assigned to it. everybody in this hall knows gover
