he's also an msnbc legal analyst. the fbi, what did you focus on in this hearing? >> well, i focused on two things that seem pretty clear that you want in an fbi director. you want somebody who's going to base their decisions on facts and who understands the law. and i thought for the reasons that you've alluded to and that i'm about to sort of quickly outline, he failed on both counts. so on the law, very simply with respect to his trying to not reveal what he said in the grand jury, he actually said he can't, as a witness, reveal that information. that is absolutely not the law. the law is 100% clear. federal rule of criminal procedure six i know most of the audience is going to be i don't know that rule. why should he? he should know it because he's going to be the head of the fbi. and he says he has all this experience in criminal and national security law. it is black letter law that he does not know or he misrepresented. either one is not good. he also made a series of factual statements that that don't make any
