so we're keeping an eye on the nasdaq.technology stocks are going to be hurt by these tariffs in particular. china has already issued new retaliatory tariffs on american agriculture as the two countries engage in a trade war. beijing announced it is adding a 10 to 15% levy on agricultural products from the us, such as chicken, wheat, soybeans, pork. the tariffs will impact roughly $21 billion worth of exports from u.s. farmers. analysts say there is a chance that china and the u.s. may reach an agreement to avoid any further escalation. we'll certainly be watching for developments on that. the tariffs could also mean higher costs for the construction industry and home buyers. canada is the world's largest exporter of lumber, and the latest executive orders could impact timber supplies. there's already a more than 14% duty on lumber implemented by the biden administration back in august. the tariffs will raise the total tax to 40% on imported lumber from canada. one lumber retailer tells us there are ways people can prepare
