you approach the mansion coming up the driveway that is shaped like a guitar, very appropriate for nashville, the front of the mansion you see two story portico the runs across the house with a gallery and wings when it off to the side that is clearly very state of the art for 1835, and just a very imposing house that became the model for many other plantation houses. they began building the nucleus of this building in 1819, and their financial position had turned around sufficiently that they were ready to build a house of this size. they moved into the house in 1821. it was basically the same building as this, but much simpler. rachel died in 1828, and then in the years following her death the house was expanded. at one point the house burn and it was rebuilt into the mansion that we know today. the original plan of the house, the middle part, is called the center hall or georgian plan house where there's a center hall on both floors and then four rims, two two on each f the hallway and the stairway in the center hall. again behind me you see the curved flying stairway that we have today t

time now for a check of the weather and danielle breezy from our nashville affiliate.le. >> reporter: hey, eva. good to be with you. and i want to talk about this. we're seeing snow in spots. look at this video. this is from the loveland ski resort. it just opened this previous week, and you can see the skiers and riders enjoying the snow coming down. that area getting over a foot of snow. that's just outside of denver. wow, what a treat there. and then as you look, there's dash cam video from arizona. snow covered roads. a person driving down the road there. what we're dealing with, a lot of moisture coming in from the ocean over oregon and washington bringing rain to the coastal regions and the mountainous regions seeing some snow, one to two feet, in fact. now, that area of moisture is going to shift farther south into california, so from san francisco all the way to san diego, you're going to get pretty wet as we head into monday and t >>> and, by the way, guys, here in nashville we're under a wind advisory, so don't call me danielle breezy today. call me danielle

nashville feels like 24 at this hour. chicago, it feels warmer than in nashville, tennessee.er midwest, temps in duluth about 22. windchills even colder. notice the next several days. temps dropping to the 30s in chicago. atlanta, we should be close to 65 degrees across this region. only 50 to 55 over the next several days. st. louis, a couple of notches shy of 60 this time of year. they'll be down into the 30s. look at these temperatures of what we expect on monday afternoon. climatologically, these are the dates you should see these temperatures. in fact, really what makes this most impressive to me is how warm it was just a few days ago. nashville, it was 73 degrees. the average is 62. we don't do average, we go 30 degrees cooler on saturday, down to 43. the coldest air we've seen since march 12th. with that dramatic shift from a hurricane about a week ago to having subfreezing temperatures in a few spots is really what's shocked the system. this is the forecast for late this week, early next week. essentially ushering in the biggest travel days of the year next week. we'r
