i'm natalie allen.anta's chief of police has resigned and a six-year veteran of the force has been fired following the police killing of another african-american man. it began friday night with the routine police call outside a fast food restaurant in south atlanta and quickly turned deadly. this is the fire that you're seeing that occurred after the shooting at a wendy's. the next night protesters set this business on fire and briefly shut down the nearby interstate. the officer who fired the fatal shot seen on the left was immediately terminated. his partner was placed on administrative duty. the chaos was captured on several videos, which we're going to show you, a warning, they are difficult to watch. first video was taken by a bystander, showing the two officers in a tense struggle with 27-year-old rayshard brooks. brooks manages to break free of the officers after grabbing one of their tasers. the next video taken by surveillance camera shows what happened next. again, it is graphic. brooks is see

natalie, what have you seen in the last hour? >> reporter: allen, we have seen quite a bit and we were actually caught up in the kind of stampede of people if you will as police, law enforcement officers moved the demonstrators out of this area about a couple of blocks around the corner from the white house really you can see multiple layers and lines of law enforcement and coming down the street, if i can show you a look this way, we see a group of demonstrators marching about a block from where we are standing. the question now becomes what happens if they tried to get close to this police line? a curfew is in effect, it has been in effect for just about an hour now. it took effect 7:00 local time. but here is the scene a little earlier. a couple hours ago as the law enforcement personnel began to clear hundreds of demonstrators out of lafayette square. this was right before the president's remarks in which he called for governors to crackdown on the violent protests. then we later found out this was also an effort e area so the president could v
