there is a poll that ended earlier than nbc's poll did, from quinnipiac. they used five of the six most recent polls. they skipped the fifth and then used one through four. why did they do that? they used one, two, three, four. not five and six. the only criteria they had announced was that it would be the five most recent polls. nationally credited organizations -- right. this is important in terms of not just whether or not fox is conducting its debate in a way that has integrity and that is transparent and that is clearly decided in advance so as to not benefit any one candidate or hurt any one candidate. it's important in the material consequences of the decision they made. most polls at this point in the race, they do have the same basic contours in terms of the top group of top ranking candidates and the middle group of middle ranking candidates and the lower group of lower ranking candidates. most are producing roughly the same results. when you look at the poll they threw out and you compare it to the one they decided to use instead, the one that is

national polls you went up in the nbc poll. all post debate. what do you make of that? >> i think i won the debate. everybody tells me i won the debate. they did polls of the debate itself i was in the 60 and 70 percentages. i think i won the debate. i loved doing it in a certain way. i will say this for the last time, i don't think i was treated fairly but these are minor details, and i really had a good time doing it. it was very interesting. i have never done a debate before like that. my life has been a debate but i have never done officially a debate. i got to know the candidates. i got to like some of them a lot. they are terrific people and others probably not as much but that's the way life goes. >> you seem to be defying political trav vit if you will. a lot of people thought after the immigration comment that's the end of donald trump or the mccain comment or any of the controversies and the opposites happen, the polls go up and they don't go down. how do you explain that? >> if you look at immigration it is illegal immigration and that was xhient. the media co

on the thursday night debate -- the latest not just fox news polls, but the "wall street journal"/nbc pollsn more strength. how do you think that he comes off during the debate on thursday? >> i would just say one thing. fox, i'm not just is saying this because i'm on fox business, but the fox news poll and "the wall street journal" poll, you can take to the bank. they're always right, they're very accurate. i know the pollsters personally, take those numbers to the bank. liz: good. >> when it comes to donald trump on thursday night, he's the show. people who don't even participate in politics, who might go to vote are going to watch this debate because they want to see what's going to happen. when you look at these poll numbers, liz, i've said for several weeks now, donald trump's the real thing. his latest gains have really come out of jeb bush. and when you look at conservatives, 10% of them have left jeb bush and largely gone to donald trump. so that's an interesting dynamic. when you look at the stage thursday night, donald trump front and center, jeb bush on one side, scott walker on
