live this morning in south boston, victoria warren, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: new thisni to the hospital after this rollover crash that happened in abington. police say a driver hit a pedestrian, lost control and flipped over. this is all happening at the intersection of boston avenue and mill street last night. we're told two people have serious injuries including that pedestrian. right now police are investigating. a falmouth man in custody at a hospital after an hour's long standoff that happened in mashpee. police say the 41-year-old barricaded himself inside a building wednesday afternoon and say he also fired a shot inside. the building was evacuated. the area put on lockdown. the suspect then surrendered several hours after that. and he's now under psychological evaluation. no word yet on what charges he'll be facing. >> kris: happening today, massachusetts police officers set to hold a rally outside of somerville city hall in response to the mayor's refusal to remove this black lives matter banner from the building. the union says the banner is disrespectful after

first at six, a soggy start all across new england, but the sun afternoon? we are not done with the wet weather just yet. the chief meteorologist jr is joining us. jr, is a showing up now? >> we did have a batch of beneficial rain this morning. for some of you, especially along if you of sunshine for the few hours. here is rain that will slowly move across southern new england. more so overnight. the first batch this morning, beverly, a couple of downpours just under an inch of rain. orange, just under an inch of rain, and here in boston, .15 in the bucket. we do need more rain. we don't need so much rain that at least two flooding, but we faced all that weather system producing waves of rain. there is a good one slated to come through overnight tonight. and on and off through the day scattering of showers. again, not an all-day rain, which would be nice for the drought, but we will take what we can get it to have them continuing through tomorrow, through tomorrow night, perhaps as late as tuesday morning. and then, drier air shows that by tuesday afternoon.

just the beginning of the government's criminal case involving the new england compounding center. twelve more defendants are still facing charges related to the tainted steroids. the most serious are murder charges against two pharmacists, part owner and head pharmacist barry cadden and supervisory pharmacist glenn chin. they could face life in prison if convicted of the charges relating to the deaths of 25 patients who were given investigators claim chin instructed employees to put production volume ahead of safety requirements and that cadden falsified safety and other records. the centers for disease control says, in all, 64 patients died and nearly 700 were sickened in more than 20 states. the trial for cadden and chin is scheduled for january. ed: new worries about fighting to zika virus in the united states. florida officials confirming the first transmission of the virus in that state by mosquitoes. is this for those of us in massachusetts? enough so especially for those considering conceiving a child that some researchers say the next few weeks will determine if certain in

some periods of heavy rain only southeasternmost new england. that trend continued in to the morning hand that storm is now offshore. the sun came out behind the showers. you probably know that. but in that sun, it's still humid. and that allows for some showers to pop up. and watching to see if there's thunder or lightning with these and there is not, at least not at this point. they stretch from south of keene, newha southward toward groan field, massachusetts, and -- greenfield, massachusetts and these are pushing off toward the south. this from the keene area, pushing off to the southeast at 18 miles per hour. it gets to winchendon at 5:45 p.m. fitchburg and lempster by 6:45 p.m. the one out around greenfield, massachusetts, is on its way toward the south-southeast as well. candia to raymond its on its way to you. now its on its trek toward the beaches of southeastern new hampshire and north shore especially hampton beach, plum island, that shower holds together, you'll get wet in the evening hours for your ding hours at the beach or walking

that weather system is moving away from southern new england. there's another juan way over eventually that will catch up with us towards the second half of the weekend. in between there's drier air in new york and pennsylvania, and that's your weather for tomorrow with a mix of clouds andnshine. then that weather system from ohio will drift through the northeast into new england on sunday with clouds, yes, but not widespread. again, i think the best we muster from this weather system i wish i could say it was widespread rain. just a scattering of rainshowers.it the risk of a few more scattered showers possible on monday. there are signs that most of ths and be yor and pennsylvania clouds and sunshine, not as muggy as today. there may be an isolated storm well west of metro boston, worcester hims and west of there even. metro boston tomorrow, upper 70s and low 80s and the beaches are near 80 degrees. there will be isolated showers. for the cape and island, if you start a vaekz tomorrow, it looks great. coldplay tomorrow evening at gillette. you

most of the thunderstorm activity through central northern new england. still we could as we track through this evening hours, actually see or thunderstorm more likefully in northern massachusetts. but it's tomorrow when the big show is expected that. is because of this front sagging from the north and also this low pressure system coming together sort of playing squeeze play with. us, it's a narrow band of heavy rainfall. if that track is even 50 miles off we could miss out on the heavy rainfall completely here in the commonwealth. so this has been the fricky forth -- tricky part of the southeastern massachusetts, cape and the islands from late tonight into tomorrow evening. for this rainfall expected. i'm showing you a different forecast model than i showed you a half hour ago, this is our most recent forecast model. this shows it's the band of heavy rainfall slides any farther to south as it does here, then see spotty scattered showers, scattered storm activity tomorrow. we still have the potential though if the some heavy rainfall. the atmosphere is g

central and southern new hampshire and vermont and a couple isolated showers possible in southern new england. massachusetts, new hampshire -- or connecticut and rhode island as well. that's what we'll be tracking tomorrow afternoon. als the front sinks farther southward, a few more storms may actually start to develop as well, so tomorrow afternoon, there is that risk. i believe they're going to be isolated storms that will be popping up, it's not a high risk situation like we saw earlier this week and through the evening hours, the last of those showers and storms start to melt normal. look behind me. this is what we'll be talking about next. that's heavy rain trying to make its way towards southern new england and we certainly need it. high temperatures tomorrow in the 80's on cape cod with a mixture of sun and clouds. taunton, 90 tomorrow. norwood, quincy, fenway park area, northward toward revere beach, all well into the 90's. cooler out on cape ann, a southwest wind comes off the harbor there only in the 70's, so we'll keep any the 80's on cape ann. going and you're back in the mid 90's
