virginia. when you get north into new england, which comes actually after virginia is initiated. nd then after that, down into the carolinas, what is now north and south carolina and georgia, which become the most massive indicator of the slaving enterprise. for new england, and from virginia, you had a lively commerce in slaves before the first african was ever imported. in virginia, often people are were being enslaved. bringing in white indentured. but that's two different classifications of bondage, indigenous people being put to work in what become tobacco plantations. didn't have any basis for a plantation economy in new england once that enterprise gets roll, about 15 years after the setup in virginia begins. but they had a basis for plantation economy in the west indies, and so you have the survivors after the 1637 mystic massacre, they're being captured and transported out. believe from what becomes boston, but i'm not spirally sure of the port for that particular transshipment and being sent barbados, so you have home from as far north as nova scotia. once it gets going,
