new york. they have two weeks to make very important decisions. bernie sanders got what he wanted out of wisconsin yesterday, a 14-point win. but considering he only picked up a net gain of 10 pledged delegates and the number of contests remaining is getting smaller and hillary clinton used to be a senator here in new york for eight years, it's no sleep till brooklyn for native son bernie sanders. he's not the only hometown boy racing back to the empire state. donald trump came up short in wisconsin, and ted cruz and john kasich had their days in texas and ohio. but now trump is the one with the home court advantage in a state where he could sweep all of new york's 95 delegates. that will happen if he wins more than half the vote here. and look at the latest polling data released just a short time ago, the real estate billionaire sitting at 52% in new york state. if all of that happens, buckle up, because new york is the starting line for a grand tour of the northeast. connecticut, delaware, ma

the guy who said new york values, coming to new york. what was the reaction? >> reporter: well, you know, initially, when you walked in, you saw him immediately heckled by a couple of protesters. a couple of guys came in, i think we have the video, and were yelling at cruz, calling him racist, saying, you don't belong here, taking him at his immigration policies. they were escorted out. it all went down peacefully, obviously. they were taken out without incident. but it's a sign of what cruz may be up against in places like the bronx. that said, the "new york values" line is potentially not a bad sale in a place like iowa. in new york, it may get harder. which is why went cruz was asked about it by us here at his media availability earlier, he talked about liberal democratic values, in his words. and he specifically said, hey, if you're in western new york, you understand. you know what these values are, you get it. that is a bit of a sign to me, of where cruz plans to compete in this state, given that it is donald trump's home turf. i want to play you a littl

he said i'm from new york. they're new york values. not iowa values. the point you made a second ago. last week, i was down in the bronx and was meeting with a number of hispanic and african-american pastors including a democratic state senator, senator reuben diaz. senator diaz is a pastor and mentioning, he brought up new york values. he brought up exactly what you said that cuomo said. he said my democratic governor, my party, told me if i'm pro-life, support traditional marriage, if i believe in the second amendment there's no place for me in new york. senator diaz said we're fed you will with the values of liberal democrats intolerant to the common sense values of most of the men and women of new york. >> yeah. you know -- i know that you know my background and i was born and raised in new york. i have a special place in my heart and we saw greatness out of the american people, the people of new york on 9/11. >> oh yeah. >> upstate helped long island helped. the entire country in fairness rallied around. there are so many good people here. >> abso

new york news reporters have liked stirring it up. they like sticking it to clinton.e sanders kind of gets that. bill clinton -- excuse me, hillary clinton and donald trump know the new york culture we are talking about, which i still think exists. i know your point from earlier, but still, that will matter a lot. we saw the shortfalls. i am not really getting at with sanders in the daily news interview and made all of those, what i would say, in temperate remarks. he was saying, the daily news, it is just a dumb tabloid. if you had been around new york -- and maybe they are getting older and not getting out to the bronx as much as they used to, but they want to make an impact, and they know their stuff. john podhoretz: can i make a contrary argument? "the daily news" interview was a disaster for sanders if you assume the sanders voter cares about issues. this is the reverse mirror image of trump. they are not groaning on issues, they are voting on one thing or two things, feelings screwed, pitchforking the banks. they say he does not know anything, just blabbing abou

there is new york city and then there's new york state. the one collective issue here is that there are so many fortune 500 companies. i mean, we could roll them up and down, and you would see all of the huge names here. what are they looking for? >> well, you know, they're all diverse. i mean, they cover so many industries. and we're blessed in this campaign to have three candidates that are from new york. that increases our odds of getting new york business-friendly candidate in the presidency. but they're looking for equity, fairness, access to capitalling, streamlined regulations, good infrastructure and nice digs for their employees. liz: i'm interested that you just said streamlining regulation. i would think they'd want to cut back regulation in a major way because that really keeps small businesses -- and they're not on the fortune 500 but, boy, are they the heart and soul of what's happening in the business world in new york state -- makes them happier, right? they can start businesses without being needled by all these regulation

a little while ago we heard them striking up frank sin at raw's new york new york. >> thanks very much. let's go to the hillary clinton campaign headquarters. what's the latest there? >> reporter: the clinton campaign is expecting a big night tonight. they're also worried about the sanders' campaign recently raising questions about whether the clinton campaign how it raises funds jointly with the dnc if that is something that breaks rules. the clinton campaign says it's above board but they're worried that these attacks are something that could hurt hillary clinton and the party in a general election. they're not just worried, they're angry. one source told me many in the campaign were quote pissed about this. look for backers of hillary clinton to be calling for bernie sanders after tonight to look at the long game. as one said to me quote he has to find a way to land this plane so it doesn't crash and burn the party. so could tonight bring a miracle on the hudson? that's not what the clinton campaign is expecting, but they're hoping what's been a testy primary of late will get toned

connecticut and new york, two states carter expected him to win. his face. >> and instead the empire state breathed new life into ted kennedy's campaign. he crushed carter in new york, fought him all the way to the convention and did fall short there. in 1984 mondale scored a solid win over his challenger gary hart but that was overshadowed by an ugly comment about the huge jewish. jesse jackson still hasn't lived down from that slur. in 1998 a wounded dukakis after a shocking defeat in michigan against jesse jackson bounced back and koifted through but the ultimate battle was back in 1992. bill clinton. he came to this state absolutely battered by scandal, bthe jennifer flowers affair, vietnam gulf. he looked like a sure loser. national democrats looked like they were going to throw him overboard. they seemed like they had it in for him. there was talk that cuomo would jump in the presidential race if clinton lost. the governor's even-handedness arouses some suspicion. even hillary rodham clinton found herself on the defensive. he gave an infamous
