in new york city yesterday just one day after mayor eric adams threatened to send bus loads of new yorkers abbott. take a listen to the governor's 7 yesterday. he said this on fox news. watch. >> go ahead mayor, make my day. there could hardly be anything better. this is rank hypocrisy by the new york governor and by the new york mayor. >> carley: we were joking yesterday dr. roberts about the image of a bunch of new yorkers to go to texas to tell them how they should vote. how would that work out? >> i would work out terribly. you know, from this guy who's gone with his kids in texas knocking on a lot of doors, i would love to see the reaction of texas anns to new yorkers. eric adams chooses to go campaign for people. and, look, texans are going to realize this is just a sham as every elected official on the other side only plays politics. the key point is that if you go to border counties, heck if you go to any county in texas and most counties in the united states, you can see the effect of millions of illegal aliens coming to this country. it isn't just that the border's wide open it's

how do new yorkers feel about the city's response to these arrivals?kers in just a few moments. you will find that there really is some mixed reaction to the way the city has been handling this influx, that we have seen now. most of the summer here. when you have here is the city struggling to absorb it has now become well over 6000 asylum seeking migrants arriving here in new york city. when you, them especially in the last couple of weeks, have arrived here at the port authority in manhattan. so many of them coming from south america. a lot of these, families audit is individuals, kate, i hillary they've traveled all the way from columbia. many from venezuela. in new york. basically marking the end of the month long journey. so many of them a little to no social, ties and therein lies the biggest challenge to city officials. to find ways of housing so many of these individuals who have the shelter system for so many stretching to capacity. an example, here the vacancy rate basically used to measure -- available has remained near 1% for several weeks.

i think when you look at new york, you are talking about that over 33,000 new yorkers left new york toies are so draconian in that state. so i think the democrats -- i would re-evaluate the talking points especially when joe biden is going out there calling those maga republicans semi fascists. that's a complete insult and something that i think is anti-american and really he is no longer the one that is a unifier in this country. >> gillian: jason, i asked jason chaffetz a couple minutes ago what he thought accounted for the shift in strategy from the top down. seems to be emanating from president biden and carrying on to down-ballot candidates ahead of the mid-terms. we aren't so concerned with uniting and throwing that to the wind. what is behind that strategy? >> first of all, i don't necessarily accept that that's true. i think what he is looking for in all these democrats are looking for is fair minded americans to join on with policies that actually benefit all americans. so it is not about disliking or hating anyone. i can tell you as far as what charlie crist said, i can't say
