but i think we already knew that, nicolle. it's interesting, though, and it ties it closer to the trump organization. but the really big question here hallie was alluding to is not who paid this money necessarily, but it's was this payment made to hide this information in furtherance of donald trump's presidential candidacy. and then whoever paid it, if that's true, then whoever paid it made a contribution to donald trump's campaign. either michael cohen made a contribution or the trump organization or donald trump himself. now, if it was michael cohen or the trump organization, there are limits on contributions that they can make to the campaign, and this 130,000 would exceed those limits and would be illegal. and if it was donald trump, he's not limited in what he can give his own campaign, but he would have had to have disclosed and accounted for this contribution. so, that's the issue here and i spoke to a campaign finance expert in the last hour who said this case absolutely raises enough questions to merit a federal crim

ashley: down to nicole petallides on the stock exchange. here we go again, nicole.nd and we're off another 340 odd points. reporter: looking like the worst week for the s&p and nasdaq since early 2016. tech and financials, two sectors i spoke of this morning on "varney." they were just barely on the green and i said from the jpmorgan analysis this morning, they have nothing to buy. facebook contaminated the entire tech sector this week. that stock's down over 10% for the week easily, and then the financials tied to the treasuries, those were sold off as well. bank of america down 4.4%. in fact when you go through the entire sector by sector, they are all in the red. but it's tech and financials that have helped the markets every time they sold off to bounce back. without tech and financials it's hard to turn the market around. we're down over a thousand points, they can't run to the safety of consumer stuff. general mills got crushed on quarterly report. right now down 1.5%. 353 points and taken out that february low for the dow. back to you. >> great stuff as alway
