. >>> well, let's get the latest from nisreen el-shamayleh. let's start with rocket fire from gaza. tel aviv has been targeted and the de-mona nuclear plant. >> correct. the attack with rocket on the de-mona nuclear plant happened on wednesday night. we understand some of the rockets were intercepted. there was no damage. if one of the rockets hit. the damage would be, indeed, severe. according to the army, we spoke to them a few minutes ago, and we were told that a total of 13 rockets were fired from gaza into israel on thursday. some of these rockets were fired in the direction of tel aviv. there were a total of six interceptions of the rockets by the missile defense system. at least one fired over tel aviv was intercepted, and we read reports saying that some people saw rocket debris in the streets of tel aviv as a result of interception of the rocket that was fired over tel aviv this morning. this situation is continuing and we've been hearing for the last three days of rockets fired in the direction of tel aviv, and it is worrying for the government and israelies. in jerusalem,

we'll ask nisreen el-shamayleh, who is in jerusalem for us. what does israel make of the intense diplomacy that is happening in qatar. has israel acknowledged the qatari proposal for a ceasefire? >> until now israel has not. what we have learnt is the qatari proposal is not on the table. israeli officials in the last 24, 48 hours have not commented on the efforts to try to revive the accuracy fire proposal. trying to reach a deal. we are hearing that the operation is continuing. i can tell you one thing. it does not mean that israel will effect a deal. prime minister binyamin netanyahu said that the challenge for the army on the ground in gaza is difficult. this is a complicated operation, destroying the tunnels, and he said that he's not 100% sure that they'll destroy all of tunnels, maybe that means binyamin netanyahu will be looking for an exit plan. that could include the acceptance of israel to a ceasefire agreement, even one mediated by qatar. for four israelis don't talk about an accuracy fire proposal, and we -- about a ceasefire, and

nisreen el-shamayleh is there at the scene.l us what you have been seeing. >> big developments on the wind-swept feel to east ukraine. we have been seeing a large fleet of artillery. heading towards the crash site. now, we understand that they are trying to secure this area. up until now it's been under the control of pro-russian separatists. the same people accused of bringing down the malaysian airliner with a surface to air missile. they are trying to secure the area. we don't know whether the separatists will defend their positions. of course, this is a strategic area for them in a battle for control of eastern ukraine. >> as far as you are aware, there's a lot of evidence at the crash site. they haven't recovered all the bodies have they? >> they haven't recovered all the bodies, body parts and various remains. they haven't recovered debris, crucial for investigators, surface to air missiles, finding what kind hit the plane - whether it was heat-seeking or guided. whether it was russian territory or here in eastern ukraine

nisreen el-shamayleh, how is the humanitarian pause going so far? >> well, as youed, israel has agreed to this -- as you said, israel agreed to this pause, from 10am to 3am local times to allow civilians in gaza to restock on supply and goods. we heard from the army three rockets from fired from gaza into southern israeli communities, the regional council. it landed in an open area. hamas agreed to abide by the pause, but it may be other palestinian factions have not abided by it. before this was implemented, before the humanitarian window was opened. we heard 20 rockets were fired from gaza into southern israeli communities. four of those rockets were intercepted by the iron dome missile defense system and before the humanitarian pause was implemented. we understand that the army carried out an attack on 13 palestinian fighters who tried to ipp fill trait into israel -- infiltrate into israel close to a border crossing and the army carried out an air strike to prevent them reaching a southern israeli community. >> for the time being it looks relati

we cross live to nisreen el-shamayleh. joining us from jerusalem.s the situation now more calm after the night's violence? >> it is, indeed calmer in jerusalem. you know that the clashes and the skirmishes broke out in the area within east jerusalem, which is where the palestinian boy who was killed on wednesday is from. these clashes not only continued, but they broke out in other parts of east jerusalem in parts of the old city and damascus gate, included. from the palestinian red crescent, 240 protesters were injured on wednesday and early thursday morning. we know from the israeli police that three rockets from launched from gaza into israel, lapping on two -- landing on two houses. they caused damage but no casualties. israeli defense have september reenforcements to israel's border with gaza, in preparation of a wider provision, or it could be a show of defensive action and strength. it's usually the case that when there are barrages of rockets from gaza landing into southern israel, that the israeli army sends additional troops to the border

nisreen el-shamayleh is near the crash site and joins us live. what is the situation in the area where this plane came down over a week or so ago. >> well, close by we witnessed a convoy of ukranian army infantry heading towards the crash fight, heavily armed with artillery. quite a long convoy. we understand the ukrainians are trying to do is to clear the area around the site, but they are coming up against the separatist pro-russian fighters that control the site. they are the ones accused by some of bringing down the airliner in the first place. we heard heavy shelling and artillery around the site area, and understand that the ukrainians are trying to cut off the separatists from their positions on the border with russia, clearly the ukrainians think the separatists are getting help from the russian side. they are sending a message to vladimir putin, the russians asking them for help. all of this is affecting the investigation, the investigation teams unable to get to the site at the moment to work out what happened to the airliner in the fir

let's go to nisreen el-shamayleh, in the israeli town of kafar azar. we have heard about ground offensive and there's going to be a security cabinet meeting of the israeli government in less than an hour, i think. what is that about? >> we are waiting to hear what prime minister binyamin netanyahu is going to tell the security cabinet meeting and the government. both meetings due to happen at 8 g.m. t and 10 g.m. t. we believe he will be discussing the ground operation. we are standing in a position, a couple of kilometres away from gaza. since we got here have been hearing shelling from tanks, and a few minutes ago we saw three rockets fired from gaza into israel. it has not stopped either. according to the israeli army more than 50 rockets were fired. we heard a statement from the israeli army saying the results appeared to be in line with expectations. the israeli army managed to carry out air strikes on at least nine underground tunnels, hitting 103 targets, they say, and that there were clashes with several palestinian fighters and an exchange of

. >>> let's go live to nisreen el-shamayleh, in the eastern city of donetsk. you have been at a press conference held by the international monitors. what do they have to say in. >> they had better news, they had better access to the site. they were forced to gone on foot. and it's huge. it was scattered over 10km, and it was difficult. they only had access for three hours. several crucial points came out. the observers noticed some of the debris has been moved. they understand, looking at some of the burnt-out debris and looking underneath it, they realise there was no burnt-out ground, making them realise that it had been moved and dampered with. the other observation was bodies were put into body bags and put on the side of the road. they were unclear where they were being taken. they have been pressing authorities on the black boxes. the o.s.c.e. will continue to press. the key thing is they have not been able to get the investigators the safe security corridor they need to get to their site. >> there's concern about the bodies that have laid for 48 hours.

from your vantage pointed, nisreen el-shamayleh, you have seen a barrage into northern gaza. what are the israeli army telling you about the success of their ground invasion? >> well, before i get into that, i just want to give you the latest two updates, according to the israeli army and police. a second israeli citizen has been killed in a rocket attack. it hit a bedouin area pop u lated lated by arabs. four other members of his family were injured in the attack. this area is underpopulated. the people don't have access to bomb shelters, and don't hear rocket sirens, they are more vulnerable than others, the bedouins. separately, the army is telling us that it has foiled another infiltration attempt by palestinian fighters in southern israel. it says that a number of fighters tried to infiltrate through a tunnel into israeli territory, and threw an anti-attack missile at the army. they responded and exchanged fire according to army officials. two were injured in the incident and evacuated to hospital. one of the palestinian fighters was killed, according to the army, which
