noelle walker joins us from outside that jewelrymart now with the latest on this investigation. >> reporter: we're at the corner of 7th and bryant. about -- 7th and brannan. about 20 minutes ago the police chief updated the media. let's take a look at what's going on behind me. it's still an active scene. we've seen s.w.a.t. packing up their stuff. what i've also seen is occasionally along the sidewalk we'll see police escorting people from the jewelrymart building. we're told there are still 75 people left to evacuate. here's what we know. one lone gunman. two women are dead at that vic toga. they were either shot or stabbed. police are not sure which one. they have recovered both a revolver and a knife. one man was injured at that store. the suspect is in custody after running out of the building. police report seeing him covered in blood. the suspect fired shots at police in the middle of the street, in the middle of the day. police did not fire back. no one outside this building was hurt. >> given the fact he was firing the gun in the middle of the street in the mild pattern of the day,

ktvu's noelle walker is live with details on the decision and what it could mean for the 86,000 students who attend san francisco city college. >> reporter: word is starting to get out on this campus, 85,000 students. one student said that is just great. he doesn't know what he will do. news chopper 2 up above the scene. there were going to be people here for a rally to support san francisco city college. there is a rally planned next week as well. i was on a teleconference with the san francisco city college faculty, they said they were disappointed, demoralized but not surprised. today the body pulled the aredidation that is effected -- accreditation 2014. san francisco city college plans to appeal and there are lawsuits threatened. the college said they are open, the classes are on. students will get a degree and their credits will transfer. on their website the commission lists three reasons for pulling the accreditation, one of them is lack of financial accountability, another is institutional difficulties and being out of compliance with standards. that organization said while many

noelle walker is near the scene of the shooting. are they still looking for a second suspect?eporter: no, we know they're not looking for a second suspect. the police chief was out here within the last hour to say there is no second suspect. just one. but there is still a lot of activity going on here. we're at the corner of 7th and brannon. the san francisco pd tactical unit looks to be packing up right now. this shooting happened at 2:15 at 888 brannon. that houses the jewelrymart. there are two people dead and one person was injured in that space, in that building. in space number 147, called vic toga. we don't know how these victims died and how the one man was injured. we do know that police recovered a revolver and a folding knife. now 30 seconds after the initial call for help went up, police say their officers were surrounding the scene. they saw the suspect run from the building, described him as being covered in blood. they say the suspect then began firing multiple shots at police before ducking into a restaurant where he finally surrendered. police say their office
