what you got nora? >> reporter: matt if i had a hang glider right hear, i could take off and go across the atlantic ocean. super breezy and winds on the beach. one of the two major concerns, two major concerns, flooding which you know we've seen the pictures on the streets. it's terrible. take a look at what we're seeing on the beach in ocean city. they just completed a huge beach replenishment project. look at that, it's he carved out. in fact people tell us the storm surge went up to the dunes. the dune structure if it was not here it likely that the water would have gone up under the boardwalk. they are thankful for the dunes there. the weather has done a lot of damage. let's look at the video of the waves weapon shot off the ocean city music pier. they are thundering. they are wildwood. you can see them pounding and understand why it's caused so much damage on the beach and probably up and down the jersey shore at this point. the coastal towns have been preparing for this many of them bull dosed the

nora muchanic is live this morning in ocean city, nora everyone hoping we don't have a repeat of yesterdayyone is keeping their fingers cross for sure. as i hear david talk about the temperatures, we've been focused on the flooding i have not thought about the cold. it is really cold down here. thankfully the wind is not like yesterday. it was brutal. west avenue, the street in front you is 13th street. it's frozen over there's a film of ice beginning to form here. no cars have driven over it yet. look at the tires and truck right there. the reflection of it it's interesting. we have flooding in the streets. i want to show you video that we shot earlier. first of all i want to show you the video from yesterday. this is what it looked like on the side streets when all the icy water went spilling into the streets from the bay. chunks of ice were flowing up the same street this morning. the water has recreted -- receded leaving dirt in the streets, but the roads are passable. now the high tide is here, there's pockets of flooding in ocean city. we'll see how this morning's high tide affects t

nora muchanic is in ocean city with the latest, nora, what are you seeing?> reporter: well, chris and david have been talking about how high tide was delayed by a couple of hours, high tide was at 7:30. right now i'm at the intersection of 13th and simpson. you can see the water coming into the street creeping up on the fire hydrant over there. there's a currents in the street right now -- a current in the street right now. i'm sure the wind is not helping that. if you look down simpson street, the block has dry pavement. it's a patchwork of what's flooded and what's not. it seems like the cross streets are getting it as the water moves in from the bay. we talked a little while ago to the resident about the flooding that's been happening in the neighborhood and what the storm was like. >>> we had to get all of our cars out of here, i was shoveling snow all night long. we can't drive around here, i'm hoping it goes down soon. >> reporter: are you over it? >>> i'm definitely over it. ready for the summer. >> reporter: back live, now, summer sun would melt some

nora muchanic is live in ocean city tonight. nora are folks more concerned about the ocean or the bay? >> reporter: well jim beach erosion is a real concern but what emergency management officials are really worried about are the back bays, the combination of full moon and fierce winds and three cycles of higher than normal tides is expected to cause serious flooding in the back bays. the consistent northeast wind will keep it in the back bays and not allow it to escape during low tide, that could lead to serious flooding in back bay air streets, so they are moving vehicles and equipment to higher ground and recommending that residents do the same, and they are sealing off areas and keeping it from reaching the dunes, a possibility if it gets rough enough. >> i think people are curious about the storm, i don't think it keeps people away. they like to come up and see what is going on. >> we come up here every day year round. it's our exercise. >> will you come out in the blizzard? >> no. >> knowing that high winds and snow is a p
