a lot of it across parts of the north bay. not until 9:00, 10:00 when we see it towards the east bay, stretching to the south bay as well. the yellows and oranges you see, that denotes heavier rain which could lead to pondings on the roadway. about 3:00 this afternoon, that's when we'll see a lot of it towards the south bay as we head towards 5:00 and 6:00. here are your numbers. high temperatures will be cool, only talking mid 60s for daytime highs. that rain will work its way from the north bay into the south bay. if you look close, mike, you can see raindrops on that north bay cam. we've already gone wet roads there. >> we've had a couple of incidents. chp report does not say it's because of weather, but the conditions may make that one of the factors. is minor crash at ralston. we saw some mist and drizzle there. over here, this is just a crash involving five or six vehicles. we see a pretty typical pattern slowing toward the city. we will track that as that rain comes down and the other crash i wasusalito, south 101 around

weather gear in the north bay. let's bring in nbc bay area's robert handa in the santa cruz mountains. always precarious when it comes to rain there. what are you seeing right now? >> reporter: well, the santa cruz mountain county has had a lot to deal with lately. apparently this recent wet, windy weather has been too much for many drought-stricken trees. the condition has led to damage and narrow escapes. the storm was just starting to pick up when trees came crashing down. it didn't take much of the storm to cause some huge rotting oak trees to topple down in boulder creek, starting sunday. this 60-foot, 50,000-pound tree clipped this house near the local country club. >> the whole world was moving. and i hit the floor. >> reporter: how close did it come to your house? >> two feet? maybe? >> reporter: in another boulder creek neighborhood, a resident was not so lucky. a 09-foot rotting oak crashed on his home, damaging the roof, awning, water heater and fencing, but he still considers himself fortunate because a
