and you can see the north bay actually getting a few peeks of sunshine, south bay, not just yet for you towards noontime, a good chance to get outside run all those areas you need to run. take the dog on the extra long walk because we will see some spotty showers into the afternoon after that. and for see some times of heavy rain - into tomorrow morning hours. not looking so bad, but middle of the day. we do see a resurgence of rain. this comes through towards that noontime early afternoon. pockets of heavy rain, maybe even a few rolls of thunder saturday evening gets pretty dry and calm again. and then sunday, another resurgence of it during morning hours on sunday. so you can see what we've got this weekend peaks and valleys between those areas of rain to the dry conditions in the middle. as for the next several days, we are going to be looking at another 2 inches of rain. this is because we do see another atmospheric river pushing through and for the sierra nevada, both of these atmospheric rivers pushed together, meaning as much as 10 feet of snowfall at the very highest elevations

over in the north bay. a 20 year-old man is facing multiple charges for deadly shooting at a party and santa rosa. it happened shortly after midnight on saturday on hall road, just half a mile away from we'll side middle school. police say there were more than 100 people at that party. they say people started fighting and david morales started shooting and hit at least 2 people. one person was killed. another taken to the hospital later that afternoon, detectives identify mirallas is a suspect in that shooting. morales was taken into custody and booked on charges, murder and attempted murder. over in the south bay almost 2 years since a deadly airbnb shooting in sunnyvale. the parents of the victim are suing the company and the homeowner. 18 year-old elias a lonnie was shot twice by 17 year-old at a party that about 200 young people in attendance. police say the home was never registered as a short term rental and airbnb should have known of illegal activity. the air b and b's family's attorney also says so

so for those of you in the north bay, you could get 5 to 7 inches of fresh powder from now through monday morning throughout our east bay hills and even mount hamilton, anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of snow. believe it or not. so we are tracking a cold night tonight and with that with the showers, we're actually seeing some snow showers out there right now throughout the east bay hills, including the mount diablo range with some pockets of some light rain over palo alto. just starting to exit for those of you in fremont. but it's those shower activities to our north. that is going to bring us some more cells and could bring us some moderate downpours as well slight chance of pop-up thunderstorms from now through tuesday. so just keep that in mind. the bulk of the wet weather as we see a line of storms arriving early monday morning shortly before 6 o'clock from half moon bay into vacaville to we could see mountain snow. in addition to that, some pockets of moderate rain as that storm track shifts south and east into the east bay and south bay bringing rain and snow showers by mid-morning on

now, water levels were rising, especially at creeks in the north bay. this is laguna de santa rosa, and all the run off from the low lying area is flooding into the waterway. a lot of water was also settling on what used to be bone dry farmland until we started to get all this rain last year. the ground is so saturated that the water just sits above ground. now, there's a flood advisory, as paul mentioned, until 9:45 tonight in sonoma county. they're just ask people to be really careful on the highway and roads because water is starting to accumulate. it's really hard to see at night when you're driving. back to you. >> absolutely. i was wondering because you cover that area and know the roads there. was it heart to navigate with your photographer and you as well tonight? >> reporter: yeah, you know, because we've been up here a lot and know the trouble spots, we can kind of navigate around there, but it's really hard to see some roadofy. we try to slow down as much as we can and just be careful. >> absolutely. thank you for your repoecapone hood are ne

if i zoom to the north bay, you can see the rain is pretty light so far. pushing a little further to the south bay, if you're wondering when some heavier pockets could reach your area, this is the timing. at about 5:16 mountain view will start to get heavier downpours, through santa clara county, 5:33. these are the timestamps from yesterday when we talked about it peaking right between the 4:00 and 8:00 a.m. hour. we saw a little bit of the rain move in overnight. let's take this through about 6:00 a.m. it will be widespread and then we see a bull's-eye over santa cruz as well. the higher rainfall totals are expected in the north bay, so santa rosa, san rafael through napa, but also the santa cruz area as well. the good news is it does look like the system moves out rather quickly, so we're not going to see it stall out. by 1:00, heavier pockets of rain will turn into mainly scattered showers through the north bay. then we catch a bit of a break with sunshine and then we'll get another round of showers start to pick up around 3:30, 4:00 in the evening. the

it's widespread over the north bay. still we've got some snow in our hills there over lake county, the central bay, also seeing some bay. hayward in the stretching across towards the peninsula and off the coastline. moderate line of rainfall there. meanwhile mountain view san jose in parts of the south bay reporting just some light rain at this time as we head into the north bay. we saw this right before the break as well. we now have a flood advisory that goes for the next few minutes here over areas like napa american canyon, and if i shift a little bit south, you can see it's pretty much over the south bay basic communities and along the coastline, so flooding going on over our low lying areas are streams are wreaks things like that could have some rapid rice. so just something to be aware of. we've been through it before. in fact, we were we went through just last week where we've got a lot of flooding in some areas and we've got a lot of wind. so this is going to take. it's time moving south is going to skirt the co

in fact, the national weather service already issuing a wind advisory for the north bay, starting at 11 o'clock monday night for the rest of the bay area. going to start early tuesday morning during the overnight hours through tuesday afternoon. we're tracking wind gusts 40 to 60 miles per hour. so all is dry and clear for now. but as you can see out in the pacific, we're starting to notice that atmospheric river churning and getting stronger as it taps into that subtropical moisture from hawaii by monday night. that's when it's going to arrive in the north bay. so we're going to see that high cloud cover increasing early monday evening at 5 o'clock. pretty much going to be a dry day all day monday until we start to notice those light. scattered showers arriving shortly before midnight in the north bay, bringing pockets of moderate rain tuesday morning at 5 o'clock in the north bay, widespread light rain for everyone else in the bay area. and as youansee, it's only going to intensify and get stronger with moderate to pockets of heavy downpours by tuesday for your mid-morning between 9

let's start in the north bay, where has been the most active so far? we seeing mostly lighter showers but also some moderate areas, especially further north in the north bay. and looking up there just east of santa rosa up in the hills between you and the napa county line. we do have some heavier rainfall just north of saint for those of you traveling on routes such as highway, 24, you could be running into some heavier pockets of rain up there. we're also looking at some snow up in the lake county mountains, going to see a little less blue in the days to come as temperatures warm up for the rest of us in the bay area. light showers to just sprinkles at this time. line up your ideal for getting outside. but it's certainly better than we're about to be. so if you need to get some stuff done, now is the time to do so. the sierra still dry for now, but not necessarily a good idea to be heading up there. if you do need to be heading back from the sierra now is your window of opportunity. temperatures are currently in the 40's and we're going to remain there

yes, specially a winter weather advisory once again, far north bay mountains, the east bay hills and eastern santa clara county for our interior north bay mountains. we could actually get up to a foot of snow for elevations above 4,000 feet, snow levels could drop to as low as 2100 feet from now through sunday afternoon. but most of our local and highest peaks going to get the little bit more than half a foot of snow when it's all said and done so radar for tracking rain and snow showers. we are starting to see some light scattered snow flurries throughout our east bay hills and mount hamilton over there near the south bay. but also for north bay mountains as well. tracking that fresh powder and the return of rain along our north bay coastline. but it's this storm out in the pacific northwest that is going to give us pop-up thunderstorms. rain totals within the last 24 hours about a 3rd of an inch of rain or less highest amounts for those of you in santa rosa. but we're going to get another round of storms shortly before midnight in the north bay overnight. so we could see pop-up thu

the north bay has fewer than 100. tonight pg&e is looking to restore power to thousands in the area. what if your area doesn't show up on the outage map even though you've been in the dark for more than 24 hours? that's exactly what happened in one oakland neighborhood. here's nbc's gia vai. >> neighbors here called us earlier today asking to convince pg&e's outage was real. >> nothing. >> reporter: this is the room this traveling nurse is renting. before her shift around 6:00 p.m. -- >> i was getting ready for work, and the power went out. >> reporter: and it stayed that way for her. >> i had to get rid of everything. >> reporter: and many of her neighbors on 56th street. not only did they not have power for more than 24 hours, they didn't even appear on pg&e's outage map. they called and got nowhere and checked for themselves. >> the outage status says the power is currently on, which it's not. and it warns me that it may take 10 to 25 minutes to appear. it's been 24 hours. >> reporter: for those whose meters regist

i'm going to start up here north of the bay area, especially just northwest of northeast of santa rosa, north of saint precisely that's where we are seeing some very heavy rain right now really coming down up there. northern napa county a little bit further south petaluma. you are in the midst of some moderate pockets for you coming down a little bit harder around san leandro just south of highway. 24 in between walnut creek in san ramon, you also see an uptick in rainfall there. very briefly. also some moderate showers from san mateo down the mountain view. overall, it's been fairly quiet for a lot of the south bay and even parts of the east bay. but heavier rainfall is going to work its way in. you see those bands offshore. those are going to make their way our direction and in the process will result in increased rainfall, intensity as well as increase wind speeds. half moon bay already very windy. 46 mile per hour gusts and we'll see peak gust. our mountain tops 50 60, even 70 miles per hour. so the risk of some downed trees, loss of power. certainly an issue again. through the 9 o
