high pressure. 76, a few little thin clouds on the beaches of ocean city but nothing like that pounding surf and blustery conditions of last week. winds north-northwesterly on the chesapeake bay, waves a foot or less. the water temperatures are anywhere from 69 degrees to 78 degrees. we should be 79 for the daytime high. so obviously into the mid 80's. 94 the record high in 1931. the record low of 42 set back in 1975. our average low is 58 degrees. so just a little bit above that tonight. but some of our outlying areas, about 59. it looks like 66 or so downtown. the stars will be twinkling throughout tonight. what we have going on surface feature wise is a high dome of nice pressure. a nice clockwise flow around that high will keep us stable, warm and dry and protect from us any problems, at least until midweek. by midweek what's going to happen is that a front will get through. and in the wake of that, there will be high pressure to our north. anytime we have that going on over new england, much like last week we're going to pull in some of that flow from the atlantic so wednesday through at least friday it looks like a chance of showers e

north carolina there was a very rare hatch caught on tape. >> after waiting several months hundreds gathered along the carolina beach to watch 70 leatherback turtles make their way to the ocean with help from volunteers. the baby turtles will follow whatever light they see so about 200 volunteers used infrared and flourescent lights to guide the turtles to the water. they also built ridges out of the sand to help keep the turtles on the straight path. leatherback turtles are an endangered species. that would explain all the volunteers. >>> the push for health carols into our state again. >> but the message this time is not from a congressman or senator. we'll explain when we come back.
