honestly we at least in north beach, i can't speak for the other neighborhoods, but north beach is strongtill get a lot of tourists, locals. so it's great. and sometimes they say, hey, north beach is all about tourism. it was the busiest neighborhood during covid. so you can't say that. so i think north beach gets a bad rap for that. and it's anyone, everyone, everybody comes to north beach and the neighbors support it. so it's been awesome. thanks for coming. the grand marshal of the italian parade, tony gianni, thanks for joining us. appreciate it. and if you would like to attend the 155th italian heritage parade, it begins at 1230 this sunday, october eighth, at the foot of jefferson and powell street in fisherman's wharf. it ends in washington square in front of saint peter and paul church. still to come, investors in tech experts say air travel will look much different in the not so distant future. our the conversations happening in san francisco this week about getting all electric air taxis up and bodies laying in wait there where people can come and pay their respects. but keep in

he's live in the north beach neighborhood. that's where this trans bay pursuit began. james and garcia, we've spoken to a number of people who have been out here this morning walking dogs, going on their own morning walks. and this is something that's all they can talk about here. we're in an area just outside of the saint peters and paul catholic church. this is where police say they responded to yesterday evening, just before 6:00 for calls of an assault. they say they eventually found the suspect, the person accused of attacking some parishioners here and then that person ended up taking off. and this went on for absolute miles. that person, that suspect in a car leading police on a chase all throughout the city of san francisco and over the bay bridge. but before heading into the east bay, officers say that suspect started throwing what they call unknown objects out of the window. that was in the nob hill and the soma neighborhoods before actually getting to the bridge. the san francisco police officers association calling those objects suspicious devices as standa

this all started during sunday mass at saints peter and paul church in north beach. 42-year-old daniel garcia is accused of knocking a parishioner unconscious when they refused to give him money. that triggered a police chase, first on foot and then in cars. that's when investigators claim garcia threw explosives at the officers. today the sf police union released this photo of what appears to be one of those detonated explosives. investigators say as the chase continued onto eighth and mission, officers faced a second ploegs. >> the suspect then threw out a secondary device at the officers. they saw that device go out of the window at eighth and mission. that device detonated as well. they could see the flames, and they could feel the explosion. they felt that that was a larger explosion than the first one up on jones street. >> the chase ultimately ended with more than 30 miles away in martinez. court records show the suspect does have a history with explosives. in 2011, he was found guilty of federal charges related to a car bombing in fairfield. sfpd at this point has not released
