has been issued until 8:30 tonight for basically the bay area proper, from about -- from fremont, certainly northwhere we have seen significant rain. so this is a new development. what the weather service is saying here, they're saying, hey, we're getting a lot of ponding on the roadways, we're seeing small creeks. we've had rainfall rates in this afternoon event, in the north bay and in the central bay of over a half inch an hour. that is significant. on top of that you have a flash flood watch which stays in effect through sunday. that's a long way off. down below here the flash flood warning, south down here, penn grove that gets dropped real soon. that was a quick rise, quick fall. the big story really in terms of rivers is the flood warning on the russian river when it looks like it wants to peak above flood stage on saturday. not aggressive flooding but there will be a few flooding issues. we are tracking that. also the river forecast center has forecast the napa river to go just above flood stage as well. what we are seeing out there is this subtropical air mass, this plume of moisture. lo

hayward, 580, 680, toward livermore and further to the north and southward into fremont we are looking at wet weather. mt. diablo and walnut creek looking at a few showers. hercules, you have wet whether in your neighborhood and milpitas. and just east of cupertino some wet weather. hail being reported here down around monterey, carmel and big sur. and snow flurries up into lake county where we have the colder air settling into the valley. as it drains into the valley, it cools off. we are looking at this system here, which is poised to move in later on this evening, sending several periods of some heavy weather in terms of rain and wind headed our way. so wind advisory 4:00 this afternoon until 4:00 monday morning. gusts 40 to 350 miles per hour. once again, the trees are likely to come down with the possibility of power outages, and this takes us through your monday morning commute. so wind gusts anywhere from 4:00 this afternoon is when things really get going to san francisco, right through 10:00. and that's when we will have winds anywhere from 35 to perhaps 40 miles per hour. so
