what can we look at that is data not produced by north korea itself? because there are so many ways in which things are controlled within the north korean space and when it comes to international relations data, every year almost always relying on the state. and then there are cases were not relying on the state to give us data but nongovernmental organizations and third-party institutions that are not active or in the most recent couple of years have been split specifically pushed out of the country or barred from reentering the country. so i think one of the things we want to look at to know whether or not there is a significant amount of regime or stability, are we starting to see and control population movement and away we had not before? movement within the country is closely restricted and regulated. if we did start to see population movement and was anticipated and in a more or less systematic way with the policy of the regime itself, then that would be a good external indicator that is not controlled by they can regime itself - - the kim regime
