sam sweeney spoke with a man who tried to rescue the teens and has details from north potomac. >> it was like a bomb went off when this happened. sam: just before midnight, cindy gordon heard a loud bang. he ran outside to find debris across his front lawn. then he saw the teenagers. sandy: one of the kids was out of the car bleeding. sam: three others remained trapped inside. one moving, two others lifeless. sandy: police, fire and rescue showed up. they did their thing and try to get the kids out of the back. they realized they were not with us anymore. they stopped. sam: police say the car was moving at a high rate of speed. the it went through this fence hit two trees, and ended up in that driveway. >> they had to have gone airborne or flipped. i have never seen a wreck like this. i've seen bad accidents but nothing like this. sam: police knocked on the doors of the deceased this morning. they say three were 18 and 119. the driver and passenger remain in serious conditions. police say alcohol played a factor in the crash. >> a mangled mess. i am surprised anybody got out. sam: re

this is pushing off to the north and east headed toward poolsville and will move across the potomac river shortly. in fact on our storm tracker at about 6:12 so get ready for heavy rain. now closer to town, potomac has a pretty heavy storm, tysons has a pretty heavy storm although they've weakened a little bit in the last 15 minutes this storm is moving off to the north and east. get ready in wheaton for heavy rain, aspen hill at about 6:13, coldsville at 6:20 and even in south kensington and this is a pretty heavy storm, we tracked it across fedex and over attenuates park, heavy rain and no hail and very very heavy rain and this heads toward landover hills as we go through the next 30 minutes or so and not to forget our friends in the south. this is heavy activity moving toward across the river toward waldorf, but very very heavy rain causing problems to come down 301 and route 5. you will return and we'll track more storms popping up like crazy and also talk about a huge temperature change by tomorrow. >>> lots of breaking weather news tonight top. check out this lightning strike in sil

this is the monocacy, like thethe mississippi, this is the monocacy flowing into the potomac, at the aqueduct north of washington. temperatures right now if the 50s. rural areas, right around the beltway and inside the beltway right around washington, right near the 60s. tomorrow upper 80s. right near that on wednesday. and then below average for highs thursday, friday and on the fourth, back up near that again on sunday and monday. and we'll have a possibility of some afternoon storms tomorrow. some of the storms tomorrow might produce some damaging winds. there's a small chance of that and then on wednesday, a much smaller chance of any showers or thundershowers in the afternoon. otherwise partly cloudy and up around 90. humid. then a bit cooler on thursday and friday, in the mid 80s. could get a morning shower or afternoon thundershower. and then on the fourth of july into the mid 80s on saturday. with a possibility of some thunderstorms interrupting the parades and the fireworks displays saturday afternoon and saturday evening. and then on sunday, we'll be up up into the upper 80s and near 90.

north and west. spot number one under the severe thunderstorm warning for just a bit longer. now coming out of shepherds town west virginia in southern sections across southern potomac to washington county. a warning there. another farther southwest. this is moving through the portions of faquier county. you see this line of heavy rain to push into prince william's county before long. that is the local issue. there are more showers developing as we speak. the iest action is in pennsylvania. a number of warnings besides the severe warnings as well. this is the southern stretch of line number one. these could spin up an isolated tornado. nothing yet. a larger line to the south and southwest until about 8:00 or 9:00. the threat until 8:00 for the most severe weather is three and a half hours and then we'll be done with that. this is the map. everybody in yellow under a severe tornado watch.

a nice calm finish there on the potomac this morning. 65 at reagan national. have that wind come back around to the north by later on this afternoon. not going to be all that gusty. temperatures now 63 in gaithersburg. baltimore is at 62 this morning. manassas to bristow to culpepper in the upper 50s. and martinsburg as well. heading out to the pool today. well, on the whole, a pretty good pool day. temperatures moving back up near 80 degrees today. as long as you can miss the bit of a rain chance out there not a bad day to be outside. not full sunshine, so you won't necessarily have to worry too much about getting a little sunburn. here's future weather. by noontime, that's when the showers start to get going here. what you're going to notice on future weather is that the rain chances today will be higher once you're east of i-95. higher chances east of the bay. as we go further in time, there's the rain chances by 2:00 into parts of southern maryland. more showers continue there into the east of i-95. area of low pressure off the coast here has this general northerly flow. and out onto the eastern shor
