it did squeeze out a couple of light snow showers and flurries in northern maryland and southern pennsylvania. but that has exited now so all of our eyes are going to be turning to the nation's midsection and that's where we have a pretty potent storm system that's going to be affecting people from the great lakes almost all the way to the gulf coast for today. now, this low pressure system has quite a bit of energy with it and some of the thunderstorms that developed this afternoon could be strong or severe in parts of missouri stretching over into illinois. it's been a very very quiet, severe weather season so far and in fact, so quiet that we've broken a record now for the month of march. no severe weather watches have been issued by the storm prediction center as of this point. we've got more details on that and my blog on wjla.com/weather if you're interested. the dynamics of this system will be changing as it heads our way. so we're not very concerned that any of our thunderstorms will be severe. but we will see some warmer temperatures and a little bit of a bumpy ride from time to time
