kpix 5's meteorologist roberta gonzales sent us this video from northstar. forecast called for several inches of new snow today with more snow expected tomorrow. right, paul? pretty exciting. >> more snow in the mountains. if you look at the snowpack numbers it's normal but it looks like so much because we haven't seen normal since 2009 and hopefully the skiers are going. part of it is getting the snowfall. the second part is getting folks up there to ski. i'm hoping that's happening. more snow is in the forecast. more rain for us. it's going to be one of those deals where you want to keep the umbrella close by even if it's sunny because the weather will be changing every 12 hours. too many night we get the next storm -- tomorrow night we get the next storm. is the rain making a difference? look at the numbers. relative to normal: >> not close to where we're be but closer than just six weeks ago. >> things are moving quickly. that moves out in about 6 to 10- hour break from the cloud cover and here's the next storm moving in and there are two or three more b

here's a live look at picture from northstar. of course a lot of people out there enjoying the break in the snow and a lot of powder on the ground. our snowfall report shows that at the summit we have about 118 inches and at the base about 67 inches of snow. and there's more snow in the forecast for tomorrow as well as saturday as you head out there. the rain -- the snow forecast shows us that we do have the potential of about 15 inches at twin bridges, and there will be some higher amounts for some of the summits. here in the bay area we will have a wet start to the weekend. highs in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. and then on sunday we'll see that weather system moving out, dry conditions the best day of the weekend to get outdoors and it will still be very comfortable as temperatures run right about average. back to you, scott and kris. >> kari, thank you. >> we'll be right back. >>> coming up after nbc bay area news at 11:00, access hollywood live followed by days of our lives at 1:00 p.m. find out if you could get help pay
