that's why ntsb is joining authorities here. we do know the weather was problematic with a tropical storm. two of them are semitractors and seven of those vehicles caught on fire. most of those who died were in that 15 passenger van from the ranch here. they have been returning from vacation at the beach, one survivor that's the ranch's life director, a woman was pulled from the wreckage, she was unconscious. she lost two of her own children in this wreck. the ceo of the ranch here says that everyone is just devastated. >> we lost eight young people that did not have a chance to have their own children. we lost eight young people that can't break the cycle of where they been and change it for their children. it is a sad day. >> reporter: there as been a go fund me account that's set up at the girl's ranch because now they have eight funerals they must plan and pay for. what they are asking for everyone else is your prayers. john. >> it is just horrible, martin. again, there is that go fund me page. thank you for your reporting.

the ntsb is investigating safety issues surrounding that crash. the drought is here in california. these pictures were taking a year apart above the antilles national forest in southern california. so on the left side of your screen, you can see how green the forest is. and you can see water in that picture that was taken last june. then you get the image on the right. that was taken just this month, and you can see most of that grain has turned to brown and the san gabriel and morris reservoirs appear to be almost dry. all right, let's check back in with rosemary, and that last night picture of the golden gate, it did appear that the marine layer the fog was starting to pull back. yes, we do have partly cloudy skies around the bay area right there at the approach to the golden gate as well. you go out towards the coast and the fog there is lingering but a beautiful view there across portions of san francisco as we look towards the golden gate bridge in the marin headlands. amazing we had some extreme heat last week and, well, not the case this we
