the oakland roots sent out this message on social media saying, quote, the coliseum is oakland's homeue, its moments, its memories belong not to any one team or organization, but to the people of oakland and the incredible fans who have supported these teams over the years. end quote. so paying tribute to those heartbroken oakland a's fans, some people responded to that post saying that they're now looking forward to going back to the coliseum to see one of those oakland roots soccer games next year. now, as for the oakland a's, they will be playing their next couple of seasons in sacramento at sutter health park. that's a minor league stadium where the sacramento river cats also play. the a's are scheduled to play their first game there on march 30th 31st of 2025 against the chicago cubs. they're scheduled to play 81 games at that stadium june into july, where the average daily high temperature is about 95 degrees in sacramento. so there will be no day games for the a's during that time of year. and the organization is also making some investments in improvements to that minor league

well, crime overall has jumped in oakland.hat's according to the california department of justice data. our media partner, the bay area news group, analyzed 20 years of data and found oakland's overall crime rate in 2023 was higher than at any other time in the past two decades. it's also up 100% since 2020. the property crime rate in 2023, up 90% since 2020. oakland's crime rate is consistently higher than the bay area's other biggest cities. well, the president of oakland's police officers association union blames city leadership, police department staff shortages and policies that fail to hold criminals accountable. a car drove into a group of people during a sideshow overnight in oakland. intersection of hegenberger and edgewater in the city. a driver crashed into spectators. we stopped the video just a second before the impact. there. a female was run over as the car left the scene. some of the crowd rushed to help her and another sideshow took over the entire westbound side of the bay bridge. the chp says at about 330 th
