oak aapartments. east of downtown sanford. and fox 35's jackie orozco is live on the scene. >> reporter: as of right now still a developing story. sanford police are not releasing too many details right now. they don't want to jeopardize the case. they have not even told us how many people they're looking for in the shooting. that's the apartment where it happened, where the light is turned on. we spoke to the next door neighbor and she said that her neighbor heard all of the commotion and kids crying when this happened. let's look at video from earlier. you can see a lot of detectives here conducting the investigation through the night. they arrived here at the kensington oaks apartments and found a woman in her late 20s with gunshot wound to her hand. another man was discovered with gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene. this is what the next door neighbor told us a little while ago. >> i have been here for going to be three years now. never, nothing has happened like this at all. i

the accident happened in a wooded area of oak hill in volusia county. that's where news 6 reporter is live tonight. what can you tell us about this? >> yeah, sheriffs are telling us that as far as they can tell, this was accidental. this is as close as we could get here to this scene. the hunters were so deep into the woods in swampy area they had to use police helicopters to lead rescuers to the victim. it still took a half-hour to find them three miles back. two people had just arrived who knew the victim. whether they learned the name. police say the victim is a 65-year-old. he was here with his 56-year-old friend when police say that friend shot him with a .12 gauge shotgun. now, police once again say this may have been accidental. the area where the victim was found was tricky to get to because of the conditions. >> there's hard ground back there, swampy and marshy waters. the guys have waders on, swamp land, marsh, scrub area. >> we don't know what those men were hunting, but these are popular grounds for hunters. we are in the final days of deer

it happened late last night at kensington oak apartments in sanford. mark lehman is following this breaking news. what are police saying about a possible suspect. >> police aren't releasing any information about who the gunman is or if there is more than one suspect. just 30 minutes ago, police remove the crime scene tape from this apartment complex. we have learned the shooting happened inside apartment three of this building. this is video overnight. a line of officers making their way into the same apartment. police say they got the 911 call around 10:30 for reported gun shots in the area. two were found shot as officers arrived. a man was killed and a woman with a bullet wound to her hand. so far, that's the only thing investigators are saying about what happened here. we spoke with a woman who lives right next door to the apartment she says her boyfriend heard the commotion and heard children crying and screaming after the shooting. we are working to gather more information about a possible suspect. coming up in the next half-hour, you'll hear fro

a large oak tree came crashing down on to this home on westwood court here in walnut creek. people living inside this place told police it felt like an earthquake as the tree came crashing down to the ground. the good news is that nobody was hurt out here. the tree fell from an open space that's just beyond the fence line of this home. the tree damaged part of the house and also a back fence as well. as you can well imagine, this will be an extensive cleanup job here. arborists will be coming out here to help clean up all the branches from this massive tree that came falling down early this morning on to a home here in walnut creek. obviously, it is a bit early to try to say what caused this tree to fall. but we do know as we reported and as we all know, there has been quite a bit of rain here in the bay area. the soil tends to get extremely saturated so you think that could have been one of the factors involved here in bringing down this large oak tree here early this morning. >> and i heard arborists say this is a really good time to have someone come out and check trees a

this is on oak ridge road. one person was trapped in the car, and had to be cut out. we have just learned a school bus was involved, but we are told no students were on board at the time. we are following some late breaking news from oak hill. a hunting accident has left one man dead. chopper 2 was on the scene moments after sheriff' s deputies arrived. this is in a wooded area, just west of i-95 and north of maytown road. wesh 2' s gail paschall-brown just got to the scene. gail: deputies got a call around back there, investigators and fwc. a hunter was accidentally shot. he was with his friend, and his friend apparently shot him with a 12 gauge shotgun. this is a deep, swampy area off of i-95. it took officials almost 30 minutes to get back there. we are told the victim is 65 years old, and again you can see more deputies and officials, a public information officer trying to get us more information. we are trying to figure out how this victim was outfitted, his hunting gear, what ever it was that sparked this accidental fatal hunting accident. jim: we are learning n
