these were the conditions at ocean beach earlier today. it is a risky. >> waves got up to about 10 feet near ocean beach. very unusual for this time of year. even for tomorrow. we're talking about waves up to about 12 to 18 feet. some of those could actually get up to 25 feet. this is really for every beach across the coastline from point grade down through santa cruz including half moon bay and pacifica. it is all because of high pressure sitting out across the pacific. with that offshore wind, that's why we have those waves that are going to be so incredibly high. we have a red flag fire warning that goes into effect tonight at 11:00 and ends at 5:00 in the morning on monday. the greatest threat will be hills at 1,000 feet. we've been so dry. we haven't had a whole bunch of rain, especially since fall has started. we have two chances of rain in the forecast in this upcoming week. tuesday and friday. back over to you. >>> thank you so much. coming up next, thousands of protesters in missouri demanding justice for michael brown. we'll take

just south of the beach, san francisco ocean beach. it happened at rodeo beach the weather service issued a beach hazard warning, 12:30 today, a caller to 911 recalled two fishermen washed off of the wash. a man clung to rocks, he was picked up and we understand he will be okay. the other man was spotted by a coast guard helicopter found floating in the water unconscious, he was picked up but despite efforts to revive him he died. park ranger talked about the beach hazard warnings and issued what should be advice for those going near the water at any time. >> these waves are more common starts now all of the way through the winter. sneaker wave is a larger wave than you see in a series of 10, 20, 30 waves, then one large one will come up. we have people who get swept into the water almost every year due to sneaker waves. high surf continues. the warning continues for them. obviously the best advice is to listen to the warnings and don't turn your back on the ocean and be careful, ann? >> thank you. >>> right now, releave for hundreds of

naturally occurring mineral that gets washed down through a water ways and if you go out to the ocean beach, the black sand you see on the beach is iron ore and so, it is, and it is very you know, non-toxic and also, iron ore is heavy and it needs a deep water which the support of san francisco can offer, we have 40 feet of water which is adequate for iron ore shippers. they will bring it in by train and utilizing any specific rail road and they will go directly from the trains and unloaded to the port and loaded into the vessels at pier 96 and right now, we are we have been working since 2010, and we have been working closely with the union pacific rail road to partner on them to committing to bring the product into the port and we are close to getting a written commitment to that and from them to bring in 6 trains a week of iron ore. and we have recently asked the engineering firm to do a geotechnical and engineering analysis of the pier 96 area. to, what you know, see if a facility can be built and exactly how it will be built and they will be coming back to us in the coming weeks with t
