new units, of new residents and even with a .5 or .75 parking ratio, when you look at what market octavia will create in terms of new autos being brought in, i'm going to bet that it completes with what would be added in parkmerced, and what you add in eastern neighborhoods, it eclipses it. the fact is that from what i'm aware of, in terms of significant opportunities for housing additions on the west sired, this is pretty much it. we see these maps of where the development opportunities are in san francisco, and other than park merced and somewhat around balboa park, there's really almost nothing on the west side. our population in this city is going to grow. it grew in the last kecked -- decade. it added like 10%. it's going to continue to grow as the bay area zpwrose and the question are we going to have all of that increase in population and all of those extra auto trims and all of those extra cars on the east side of town absorbed by one section of town without making every effort to try to in a reasonable way with well-designed projects to spread that to other parts of the tounl. i

for funding in our area plants, and i think it is pretty well known to most of us that the market octavia, balboa, some of our recent plans, the funding was actually about 50% short for what was needed to provide this in the community improvements to meet the projection, so if we are looking at smart growth, this is a great tool for that. there are some specific details in the guidelines that i have been looking at and have been talking to mr. yarne about. one of the things i have been very attended to is that the cac's that are in place have to be strongly involved. it takes years and years of planning work. they are part of the plan itself. this funding to a should be added to the sources of funding to implement those, and they should not be in somewhat overriding that guidance that cac is providing. it is providing sort of a partner or peer role. i just wanted to point out, as mr. yarne said, this does not mean it is bad. we are still looking for funding for some of these others, perhaps. thanks. supervisor mar: is there anyone else from the public who would like to speak? seeing none,

parts of 101 near octavia, take it slow, give yourself some extra time.e are looking live at the bay bridge toll plaza, slick surfaces, flooding as well on that eastbound side just as you approach the metering lights. you can see traffic is stacking up again. 24 minutes on the eastshore freeway approach from the carquinez bridge to the maze. now, we have a wind advisory in effect for some of our bay area bridges, bay bridge is one of them. richmond/san rafael bridge as well as the san mateo bridge. and i checked the san mateo bridge a few minutes ago. traffic moving okay in both directions. now to the south bay we go where we have a couple of hot spots. northbound 101 at cochrane road, an accident being cleared at the right side of the road. a line of red in the area. there is a tow truck on the scene so it may be on the right shoulder already. through the south bay in san jose, north 280 at 11th ten street wreck in lanes another one at guadalupe parkway. live look at 280 and traffic is crawling along on the northbound side heading into downtown san jose.
