i really am not here to talk about oewd or moh cd. i'm here to talk about the impact that i think would have on community based organizations and individuals. i don't know how having another commission or another layer for folks to actually have to come and speak to you today, like i thought maybe this would be a little bit quicker than it is. it's going to be two hours probably before it's finished. i do know that ceos and other folks have the time to come and really pander to a commission. i think if you want to do something you should set up a structure where people can be seen as individuals and not have to come stand in line and actually beg people to listen to him. i think you need to think of the way were folks can set up a time to say this my complaint that somebody actually move on the complaint. versus, having a popularity contest who can bring out the most people to sway the commission. so, my concern is people don't have time. in the evening or during the middle of the day to spend we are trying to convince someone to list

that in addition to the work of oewd in terms of various grants is a huge workload. and this would really fall upon this commission to be able to handle that type of workload in a very, very short period of time so we can meet the annual funding cycle for all of these nonprofits, who are not solely dependent on cdbg, block grants or the oewd, block grants per se, but there could be a collision of funding before this particular body. so the bottom line is it will not speed up the process. and we feel strongly that the board oversight is where the oversight should be. and we're happy to provide materials to the board and to answer any board requests, as it relates to a particular project or a particular nofa that will allow us to try to complete the work we're trying to do on the rad program. we hope to close in september on 2 thousand eunts of public housing. that may or may not have happened with the commission. and the question of getting those 15 projects, through the commission process, also to the board adds an additional step, that is duplicative of the work thi

on top of that oewd provide 3 other sectors so we are trying to provide as much opportunity as possible. we have seen increase in youth population. the average age is early 30's in the program. we have a wide range of individuals about 50 years old. we have a few every class that are about 50 or even older and have some that are 18 coming out of high school. between is where mu ajority of the trainees are coming from. >> what are the other 3 sectors? >> we have health, tech and hospitality. hospitality is one of the biggest because of san francisco there is a lot of hospitality work. we are training program that provides training in chef working the bars, working hotel management so a lot of restaurants and hotels in the area partner with our service providers and office to get placed in those sectors and health is work wg cpmc and kaiser and a lot of home health care provide certification and the partnership is with city college and get college credit and after they graduate dependent on their path, we get them into the specific jobs and the last is tech, we have a lot of partnership d
