lower hudson valley parts of eastern pennsylvania. we go back to ohiod we see everything really fall apart but later today, when we activate the heating of the day we do have a severe weather threat two spots. one to the ohio valley, the other one just to the south and east of the d.c. area. in fact some of the southern suburbs into calvert maybe anne arundel, there's the northern neck all in that yellow area with damaging wind gusts being the primary concern from some of the stronger storms we could see. futurecast breaking it down this way. through midday relatively quiet and partly sunny here. we're looking at the showers and i want you to watch south and west of d.c. as we get into the early afternoon. how the showers and storms start to pop up here and then they move across the area generally south of washington. that doesn't mean we won't see a thunderstorm here or can't see a thunderstorm here in the district but computers are focusing all of the attention really just south and southeast of town. we'll get into the evening hours by midnight still

even the ohio valley too. it's so hot, we can't win right now. you want to get cooled off with the rain, but it's at the expense of the thunderstorms. yesterday was another day in the offen in the -- oven in the southeast. columbia, south carolina, the all-time record high temperature on sunday was 107. this isn't your average heat wave, but it's continued for seven days, it started off in colorado and pushed to the east coast. thankfully the thunderstorms have created a bunch of clouds. we have areas of light rain out there. that's going to start you off a little cooler this morning. that's why temperatures are a couple of degrees lower today than the last couple of days. some humid air is sneaking up through arkansas to st. louis too. that's going to increase your humidity. that means the heat index will be a little higher that's why we have excessive heat warnings. in southern illinois and down to the boot of missouri. we have kind of eliminated a bunch of the heat advisories in the carolinas. that's because we'll have more thunderstorms and c

this system drops down over the ohio valley by tomorrow afternoon. so temperatures into the 80s, tomorrow's forecast is now situated over a dayton and southern indiana. you know heat down to the south. look at this heat, 101, 100 degrees plus. that's going to stay out towards south and west. we'll get a piece of that during this week. high pressure that keeps us high and dry for tomorrow. then we'll start see the clouds approaching from the western horizon and then showers and storms will start to fire. this one doesn't move through tomorrow afternoon. it waits until tuesday. we will kind of string this out with the humidity both tomorrow and tuesday. let's make since of this on future trend. waking up to 73 degrees, here comes the storm in the afternoon. so for the overnight, 71 degrees, mostly cloudy, turning muggy and tomorrow afternoon, right around 91 degrees. here's your 7 day forecast. humidity with us, tomorrow and tuesday. 91, 93 on tuesday, it's a better shot of afternoon showers and thunderstorms tomorrow. we'll call isolated version for t
