such uh uh and uh if such uh an offensive does start also if you may we were covering the uh oic conference taking place in jedda saudi arabia where the palestinian foreign minister was addressing the gathering if you may walk us through some of the key points that were mentioned by uh mr. rad almali. yes uh firstly i'd like to offer my condolances to the uh families of the murdered and also the injured and all the people who were uh so brutally uh shooted uh last night by the israeli air force in the uh hospital a barbaric uh crime against humanity and there are absolutely no words in the english language i don't know about the arab uh language or the judean language but there are no words in english to describe uh the feelings that people have the desper and also the anguish and anger that people here the feel so helpless. to actually have any influence with their governments in the global west to try and uh intervene. as as for the ground offensive this much volted ground offensive, personally i'm very very very sitten uh to believe that this has begon, because everything prior of this,

impacted uh israel's economy. one of the things that came out of the recommendations from the oic conference, which was recommended by iran's foreign minister was that israel needs to be sanctioned not only just which would hurt the regime, but also from uh ambassadors. or even the pilots that are dropping the bombs, but do you think that where it hurts, which is financially, israel should actually uh there should be a bloccade and a sanction on israel, perhaps that will lead to its demise, there are you know multi, you know, multi multiple factors that are involved, and of course the financial front is one, you know the bds movement has been there for a long time, but it has been mostly people centered movement, you know we need to see. governments coming to the to the help of the palestinian peoples with sanctioning the government the israeli regime, you will need to have this happening a global scale, you know, it was happening before, you had people who were for example boycotting different products that whose companies, you know, the companies who produced them helped israel in one way

the past hour we've heard from the iranian foreign minister who was over in jetta uh where the oic conferenceking place there, he gave a 10- point recommendation as to what needs to occur, a couple of them were uh sanctioning israel and for there to be somewhat of movement towards uh what bds has promoted, not to buy products from israel, this goes for regional countries especially in west asia, and bairut now you have a different uh angle uh from uh this now we're street level that we're seeing uh the protesters who have come out. they have mobilized, it's got to be lot of anger, which is quite natural when it comes to, of course you know that's lebanon, where hezbollah is uh... but these people, these protesters, lebanese protestors, they the they have put - they don't care about their physical state of being to go out there in the form and manner that they are protesting, especially when you have hundreds of security forces raining down on you, so live from beiroit, you just saw scenes there and brush to use scenes from colal, anti-israel and anti-america, i should say anti-us protest. oka

well, that's actually a good point in terms of let's look at the oic, which is the organization islamic conference, we know that international organizations are only going to do what the... the different member states allow them to do, so yeah, the idea that we have this kind of organization, international organization that includes 50 odd, 50 plus countries that are you know muslim countries in terms of having a populations which are majority muslim, that's a good thing, it's a place you can meet, you can talk, you can discuss things and you know the point is this, when you have member states whose governments a lot of which are not you know backed by their own people which are tribal you know dictatorships or which are military dictatorships or which whose existence depends on you know the uh welfare of the americans or the west for these rulers to to continue their rule and to continue to make you know the billions of of dollars that they put into their pockets and the pockets of their families there's going to be issues yes they are under pressure now uh it's so it's so apparent and it's so cl

get to that, on the activism side, given the fact that there's a uh conference that was held a summit, i should say in jetta of the oic, many of the regional countries in attendance, iran's for minister proposed sanctioning israel, now the minute that that word sanction came out uh from him, one uh can only at least i was immediately drawn into the bds movements, maybe there's uh this is a time uh for that to be revitalized and perhaps put into motion because there's got to be some repercussions and um consequences behind what israel has done uh in terms of the massacker that that has taken place, do you think that there's enough uh enough of a will by at least regional countries, if not internationally speaking, which we've seen the condemnation come worldwide. for something like that to be put into high gear? well, i think you know the story of bds is the story of palestinian non-violent resistance, and the world uh, or at least the western world, not being willing to um accept that, and so the irony is that when they resist non-violently they're condemned, and when they resist violently they're condemned. i think t
