on sunday. now, metro says the problem was in its rail operations control center, a system that allows controllers to see where trains are on a digital map and to remotely control switches suddenly went dark. each time the train were told to hold hair position at the next station but passenger delays lasted as long as 40 minutes. train operators used traffic lights alongside the tracks and speed commands were transmitted to each train's control cab. was radio communication between the train and the control center at all times and they also want to make sure people know all of the safety systems that keep that safe distance between the trains that awful those were fully operational during these outages. technicians we're told are continuing to work to identify the source of the problem. that includes the rail and the it departments. at this point, we don't know exactly what happened and so they are still working to figure that out. >> thank you. >>> some of another top stories, maryland governor
