people who would normally -- normally, could take the bus to the opera house or city hall or other places are not going to rely on an unreliable mode of transportation. therefore, they drive, but i honestly believe you will see rare efficiencies, and i think there would be a lot of people willing to take it because they knew that there was 70 in the time, and then that connecting with the underground system that they could actually get to downtown and the like more quickly. it might even be better for some people than doing the express buses. i think we have to think about it in a larger, connected network. the larger network of how people are able to get to other places, particularly the opportunity to connect at van ness and market to so many other lines to get people from around the city, so i think that is really a great achievement. i think that we obviously need to do a lot more education. there's a lot of people concerned about parking and the turn lane issue as well. i do agree that it is important to minimize turns for transit purposes, and i do think that a lot more people who a

i look back on my work, and you can see me sort of walking through systems or cities, towns.'ve already had the opportunity to create a public artwork on a landfill at danehy park in cambridge, massachusetts. the landfill was closed in 1972, healed, and then reopened 20 years later as a park. this used to be a terrible, smelly dump. now, it's reborn. i created a piece called "turnaround surround" for the park that consists of a half-mile long, handicap access path that encircles the central mound. i used glassphalt, a mix of asphalt and recyclable glass bits that catch and reflect the light. it's symbolic of the public's power to turn things around, to bring life back to a place of decay. feldman: underlying all of this is her understanding of the history of art. many artists have made beautiful artworks dealing with materials that would be discarded. she starts with the lowest base level, our refuse, and builds beautiful artworks from that, and that's absolutely essential. it's been going on for centuries, and she just steps in and does it exactly where it matters most. ukel

the city attorney has been trying for a week or more to try to get sheriff mirkarimi to turn over his lawyers files from a criminal case, to sit down for an interrogation, all under the authority of an alleged, unbounded city attorney right to investigate. now, the charter provisions that i have looked at indicate that if there is an alleged violation of the san francisco campaign and governmental conduct could, a complaint may be made to this commission, and it is this commission that decides to initiate the investigation, and the city attorney may participate in that investigation. i do not see anything in the charter or any other statutes that permit the city attorney to go out and start their own investigation. we need clarification on that issue immediately and urgently, because it seems to us that we would be fighting with one hand tied behind our back if they can go out and prepare whatever they need to prepare to proceed with this proceeding before you all have even promulgated rules of procedure that will hopefully proceed in an orderly fashion. now, i did want to address one
