the country was populated across to get either to california or oregon or the california trail coming down to west through nevada. i will show you a few pictures here. that is towards the end of the trip actually and i have lost a lot of weight actually but that granite marker marks the trail all the way across. it was placed by scientists because it's hard to keep it on vandalism that sort of thing. that's a sort of marker we came across by the hamburg station in kansas which got me going on wanting to cross the trail. this is a nice picture because it shows one of our water barrels. this was in central nebraska after we have been on the trail for about a month and if it was a good week i took maybe one shower so you can see what the trail does to an otherwise handsome guy. this is my brother neck with whom i took the trip. i described a relationship in the book as collaborating dna presenting itself with symptoms of severe bipolar disease. i am sort of refined and have a college education and it's offensive to my brother that i'm educated and it's one thing that i read books that i've written five books. he is
