the visibility has to get down to a half mile or even less before we would officially consider it heavy snow. pottstownakertown, allentown, doylestown, coatesville, visibility is over two miles. that would be considered light snow. northeast philly, philadelphia international, wrightstown, two miles or greater, mt. holly getting close to a mile. you can see one-mile visibilities in millville and wilmington. so that's where the heaviest snow is falling now. but it's still yet to become heavy. over the next couple of hours, it should intensify. look at the temperatures. we were in the 60s a couple days ago. 50s yesterday. the temperature staying above the freezing mark means the snow basically melts on most surfaces, especially the roads, the well-traveled roads. wrightstown, kennett square, chester springs, wilmington, washington township, all right at 32 degrees. as long as it doesn't cool down too much, remember we're not that far from the sunrise, just a couple of hours. as that snow starts to move to the east, it's going to get lighter again and that will allow the snow to melt even more. >> glenn,

northern and western suburbs, any low lying area with a creek or stream has a chance of at least minor flooding from western chester into pottstown and reading. about half of berks county and half of lehigh valley county, and the northern tip of montgomery and buck county and on up to easton. mercer county is released from this but points to the north have some creeks and streams still running high and minor flooding in the areas. two other waterways of concern includes the brandywine creek. this is the one creek experiencing moderate flooding through the morning, earlier it was up by downingtown and now shifting to chadds ford. the crest was an hour ago at almost 12 feet and that is about three feet above average. so moderate flooding through the afternoon there. the schuylkill river has minor flooding and it's a long time before this ends, through tonight and up to about 3:00 in the morning before this subsides, we are at the crest now at 14.7 feet. the minor flooding will take a while to subside as the water goes down in the overnight hours. when i come back we'll talk about where temperatures are going, that is a downward tre

north of honey brook and heading towards pottstown and green lane montgomery county and it reduces visibility and quickly coats the ground and sidewalk surfaces ored surfaces that are not treated. but once it passes by it melts right away. media and westchester are in the burst of snow and now lifting to the north and this is heading up i-95 toward felt and center city just a few flakes. and that extends down to woods town as well and starts to break apart as you work south of that area. if you look at the snowfall totals so far. only a half inch in philadelphia and most of the that is melted from this morning. parts of chester county, ac land 3 inches so far. and chester county some folks had to break out shovels there, and hockessin delaware a half inch, and winslow township a half inch of snow. it's above freezing most places that is why we are dealing with melting over the daylight hours, because the snow is falling so lightly and as we look at satellite and radar, this is one burst of energy now passing through and lifting to the north and starting to dry things up later on during the evening hours. at 7:00 you can see sporadic snow showers

pottstown 3/4 mile visibility. that's accumulating snow. reading is fairly heavy and coatesville is very heavy snow. you can get an inch or more an hour at that kind of rate. wilmington itself a half mile is certainly accumulating snow. but in philadelphia, so far not quite there. wait until the band of snow gets there. and no snow in much of south jersey including the areas where it is raining. as we go through the next several hours, the temperature is going to be very critical. but it's also not going to be dropping a lot. and as it drops the snow is kind of moving out. so, again i'm not expecting any widespread problems for tomorrow morning. how much snow? we're still in that target area to the north and west, but less than an inch farther to the south. 1 to 3 inches around the philadelphia area, bucks, montgomery county may get a quick inch this evening. but chester county, parts of berks county, 3 to 5 inches. then watch what happens here. the cold air comes in later in the week. and then it gets even colder. this is arctic air. it's not just arctic air. we trace that air back across the north pole all the way to si
