nbc bay area responds to an orinda couple after a plumber left them high and dry. >> and not in a goodonsumer investigator chris chmura and his team stepped in to help. >> good morning. sandy and dorothy ching called ars rooter rescue to fix a leaky shower and faucet in their bathroom. they say they paid $525 for the fix, but ended up with this, right here, the chins say what you're seeing is unfinished work and that right there, i can zoom in, is a plumber's tool stuck in the shower valve. the chins say the tool broke and the plumber just left it. he also left their house, and quoted in writing an extra $925 so return, finish the shower job and remove that broken tool. the chins say they had no running water for two days. ultimately they called a family member to fix what he could, then the chins turned to us for a refund. we contacted ars rooter, and a few days later, the company returned the chin's $525. it sent us a statement that really didn't address what happened, but the company said in part here "we take great pride in knowing we were able to take steps to ensure ms. chinn's s
