formerly homeless individuals is something that is critical to addressing the number 1 crisis in our city made those investments. $53 million to expand our behavioral health program and other health services in san francisco. [applause] thank you supervisor mandelman for your support and leadership around mental health reform in our city. we have already opened 100 new mental health stabilization beds on top of what we already have, and with this additional funding , we will be able to open another 100 new beds by the end of this year. we also have a need for people to use the bathroom, so we are adding more pitstops, we are adding more big belly trash cans , we are adding more targeted street cleaning, and we are using our 311 data to really make those investments strategically in the right places. we're deploying another 250 officers, hopefully, as we get them across the finish line of the academy, so that they can walk the beat in various neighborhoods, talk to merchants , get to know the communities, and help with preventing crime from happening in the first place. we know that our co

of course make our city more resilient. it's also been one of several projects that the southeast sector of our city has been benefitting from. just in the last two years or so we finished the medical examiner's building, the two shops for large and small vehicles are right around the corner. coming up soon is the new southeast community center. so a lot of good opportunities here, and it's great that the partnership that we have with all the contractors and all the city departments, that we're all working together to really improve san francisco. as you all know, today is very, very special because it's the traffic company and forensic services division that will be in this site. the building itself is going to be over 100,000 square feet and 100,000 square feet is huge. it's two storeys as you can see. more than three quarters of this lot will be a building with a two-storey building. we're invited about that. inside the building will be many labs that would be used to help solve crimes. also our motorcycle police departm

city. that is why, you know, we are making our deliberations. e totally hear you and know that there are delivery services and other things, but we're also taking a larger consideration of equity across the city into account as we consider this case >> thank you. >> okay, i will just say, this is walking distance from my house. i support this project. i do support consumption on-site on site, and this is because, you know, to the question, it is all about the context. so if this was consumption below somebody's apartment and, you know, we weren't sure if the building inspection could yield a mechanical fix were not -- fort not to go into the apartment, and i would say no. that is what we did the last time. in this particular instance, you know, is a stripmall, and if folks can't consume it on-site, if they're smoking it or vaping it, they will go outside into the stripmall. there are food establishments. it is across the parking lot and across the street, there is no housing for hundreds of feet on both sides. so, you know, i am totally comfortab

our small business commissioner sonya malara and our city administrator, our chief and many, many others who are here. the next speaker is an amazing, amazing legislator. she shows gults and courage. she walks across the aisle to pass policies to build more housing for working families. she's done so much and brought news to the city. good news. to expand parenttal benefits but also lactation policies here locally in san francisco. it truly is a model for the nation and i want to welcome supervisor katie tang up to the podium. particular history, to the part that our neighbours in their neighborhood has played in the city's broader history. what i am asking today is that you consider whether the children of our neighborhood deserve to have their history memorialized just assume the other parts of the city have been to add value for all in the city. the 770 woolsey site is unique and it is uniquely heralded. it is the last of its kind in the city. i think that it is a core part of our neighborhood's identity. it is a core part of what has brought us together as a neighborhood and it has a bright future. i think for the children of the neighborhood and for the children of the city to understand more deeply another aspect of their own safety's history. thank you. >> thank you. >> good afternoon, commissioners my family and i have been a longtime resident of the portola district for 50 or 60 years. sorry, i'm really passionate about this. i live one and a half blocks from the project. i'm a proponent for designating the property as historic. the portola neighborhood has gone through many changes over the yea

i wanted to put that on our new business to see where the city is at, in supporting that. they are small businesses. i would like our office to at least be able to report with the city's outs, and if we for these small businesses. secondly, i think in the spirit of really waking up our elected to how they are going after small businesses with almost every new law that is introduced you know, in conversation with commissioner dooley, largely disproportionately immigrant and minority businesses are being affected by the regulations that are being in place, whether, you know, they are big picture ones are technical ones. i think this might warrant a joint hearing with immigrant, i've talked to their doctor before about this. i think we need to have a really strong voice in this, not just the regulations. i know when ice is in town, i know businesses that close their doors. we need to have a serious conversation about that. the sector i am in, is being harassed by city departments in bringing regulatory bodies that are state and federal, and there has been some horror stories t
