our coast guard's and a mechanism to synchronize capacity building in south east asia and the pacific islands. this is so we can align our indo pacific strategies. japan and r.o.k. have the first ever pacific strategy for the republic of korea. they not only check in every few months of talk about the implementation of the strategies but really dig down into some of these areas that are critical like humanitarian development work or maritime security support with partners in the pacific islands in southeast asia. we are discussing areas where we can take cooperation further, most namely challenges. we decided after camp david had taken place that the dprk and russia relationship was moving so quickly that we needed to share intelligence to coordinate policy and try to counteract as best we could. in september, we had a mandate to do exactly that. putin's visit to pyongyang a few months ago was the first in nearly 20 years. north korea is ramping up cooperation with russia and the copperheads of partnership they've signed make clear that they have every intention of forging a closer military r

american hate crimes continue to be hit the plurality there are 3424 in 2022 , anti-asian or pacific islander hate crimes so i major spike in hate, the most acute during the covid pandemic and surrounding discourse. anti-muslim hate crimes were nearly 5% of all recorded hate crimes during the 2016 presidential election in the discussion of a muslim ban. the only year with a higher record was 2001 in the post 9/11 backlash. in hispanic and latino hate crimes have shown a persistent increase with a record-breaking 730 eight hate crimes in 2022. the annual numbers has increased in the last seven years on a manner that has outpaced the overall increase of all reported hate. and while we've seen an increase in an anti-immigrant rhetoric and xenophobia. particular experienced now. lgbtq hate crimes doubled in 2015 to 2022. and while the annual number of hate crimes based on sexual orientation now represent a smaller share of all hate crimes report each year that is not the case with gender identity hate crimes which of increased 4% over 2022. with rights to air americans and jewish americans we too
