the palm springs council will vote on a $21 million package of community support initiatives. the california coastal commission has approved a $175 million project to protect san francisco's ocean beach from erosion and rising sea levels. the plan includes building a seawall along the southern part of ocean beach, and the project would also protect a wastewater treatment plant and a sewage tunnel. public utility leaders say that the project is needed to prevent the aging infrastructure from breaking and spilling sewage onto the beach. the former westfield mall in san francisco is now up for auction. >> the value of the san francisco center has plummeted. the owners gave up control last year and owe hundreds of millions of dollars to the lenders. deutsche bank and jp morgan chase. while it is possible someone could close on the site, experts believe the more likely scenario is the lenders end up keeping the property. >> dreamforce is coming back next year. the huge tech conference will happen once again in san francisco. it's on october 14th through the 16th next year. it is th
