up to 75 in oakland and 80 in palo alto and 88 degrees in antioch and in concord. our winds have been light coming out of the south, but the more of the southwesterly or westerly wind we see and that breeze and that cool ocean air and as we go into later today, the winds will pick up once again. we're looking at a nice breeze and the wind speeds at 15 to 20 miles per hour. i was talk about the two systems that we're seeing off the coast. the storm approaching parts of the pacific northwest and the remnants of a tropical system that is reaching closer. you can see that cluster of clouds reaching closer to l.a. so, we're going to see all of the moisture from the tropical system staying to the south. but the rain from the pacific northwest starting to make its way into far northern california as we go into friday. and this may make it as far south as ukiah and mostly some very light sprinkles early on friday morning. but a lot of fog for the rest of the bay area between flooriday saturday. that is helping to bring in some much cooler temperatures along with that ocean

we're in the upper 60s for parts of the peninsula and 80 degrees in palo alto for that high temperature today. going into san francisco, the marina district will reach up to 62 degrees, and the north bay high temperatures will reach as high as 97 in ukiah. we're up to 79 degrees in santa rosa. we'll continue to monitor the air quality over the next seven days. but we should see a little bit of some improvement as we get more of a westerly wind, that brings in some fresher ocean air into the bay area. but then as that air becomes more stagnant, well, unfortunately it looks like we go back to that moderate air quality. so what's keeping all of this very bad air trapped? well, for one we still have the fires burning. and then on top of that we have high pressure that's causing that air to sink. and with that light wind it basically creates a cap over the bay area. and then during those early morning hours we have cooler temperatures, and so that also causes the air to sink close to the surface. and so it basically traps the smoke. we've seen some of the worst air quality in san francisco,
