analysts continue to recommend palo alto.gan stanley they say it's their top pick they have strong confidence in that 173 is their price target dan ives over at web bush for many, many months has been calling it a table pounder to buy it how come no one is listening to analysts the stock has crushed in terms of performance in that sector. why is it nortnet, why is it some of the others, why isn't it palo alto for you? >> yeah, i really can't speak to palo alto, scott we liked nortnet back in '21 because it was trodding in line with its valuation metrics we should have been more disciplined about valuation in selling the name, but we had huge short-term gains. the stock traded up to 80 times earnings and 270% premium. we had a 90% gain at the peak, and it was all short-term. still have a 35% gain. but now the stock is rerated and back down to its historical valuation metrics on both an absolute and relative basis, so the driver of returns can now again be fundamentals which is 20 plus percent revenue growth annually and margin

charles: what about palo alto networks? they will be a great earnings period. they go you there roof then for some reason they don't live up to the hype, they come down. they have been very volatile but it feels like maybe palo alto really has some traction? >> you nailed it. i think what we saw with all of the cloud companies, service now, microsoft, palo alto they delivered great earnings, excessive growth in the space and got panned because they are slowing down somewhat which is largely, law of big numbers but remember stocks are trading on the macro right now. so people are just, sort of extrapolating higher interest rates are bad for big technology. that was true when technology didn't have earnings but these companies all have earnings. palo alto, i think their growth in climates over a million dollars was 67% year-over-year and over five million was something like 73%. charles: right. >> this company is in the sweet spot of cloud meets cyber. cybersecurity need are not going away. last thing cios will cut from their

kron. 4 news room from palo alto where police are responding to a shooting at the stanford shopping center. police say a suspect in a car fired at least one round into fleming's prime steakhouse. we're hearing that no one was hurt by the gunfire. but police say that the suspect fired a handgun from a moving car into that restaurant. there's no motive or target at this point that's been released by police. there is though, a heavy police presence at the scene and officers have closed off part of el camino reality both directions near the stanford shopping center as they process the scene for evidence. police are saying to stay away from the area. there are delays as they do their investigation. they're asking people to take different ways to get around the area. we do have a reporter headed to the scene and we'll have updates later on this evening right here on kron. 4. >> yet another mass shooting in america is left the city of colorado springs in mourning tonight in lgbtq+, communities are on high alert in sacramento. several lawmakers are voicing outrage and calling on the state to preve

we don't know a motive, but police tell me they will increase patrols at the mall in palo alto. i'm elissa harrington ktvu, fox two news. at 11 tonight. san francisco police are stepping up patrols near the palace of fine arts after a pair of armed robberies targeting photographers, city supervisor catherine stefani says there will also be extra patrols and the chestnut street merchant corridor near the iconic san francisco landmark. stefanie said on twitter that $300,000 has been set aside. for sfpd community ambassadors to also staff the merchant corridor. the separate robberies happened last week while photographers were working, taking wedding pictures released a picture of a vehicle that caught fire during a police chase. officers say a chrysler 300 became engulfed in flames after the driver ran over a spike strip and then kept going. the fire was said to have started from sparks generated by the cars, rims. the driver and his passenger escaped the flames but were chased by police and then arrested. the suspect was being pursued for speeding away from a sideshow. crowd show

a search is on in the south bay for what police are calling a dinner time home burglary crew palo alto police or investigating 11 cases since october 9th. those burglaries happened during dinner time hours between seven and nine often on friday and saturday nights when the homeowners aren't there the suspects usually get in by smashing glass doors in backyards. this past friday the thieves even got away with a locked gun safe nine firearms inside officers have increased patrols including plain clothes officers in targeted neighborhoods. side chosen gunfire rolled across the bay area overnight starting in vallejo activity went on for about 20 minutes in the area of columbus and ascot parkway before police broke it up. officers also responded to a sideshow in hayward witnesses say shots were fired when the sideshow was dispersed by three officers. and gunfire rang out during this sideshow in rodeo in a fourth location in richmond police broke up another street takeover, california lawmakers passed a bill last year to increase sideshow punishments. new law is set to go into effect in 2025
